Halloween is coming on fast! What are your plans?

Folks back in the old days often lived so far apart that trick-or-treating was not much fun, so they had parties instead and invited folks from all over the county.

Does anyone have these type parties anymore? If you had the perfect place with a barn, an old orchard and lots of dirt roads around, what would you plan for your Halloween party?

I would start the festivities early in the day with breakfast and then good old-fashion games for kids and adults alike.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. Granpappy is still munching on turkey sandwiches and pumpkin pie. I made some turkey soup with dumplings if anyone wants to come on over for supper. I got the fire going and a huge pot of hot chocolate to warm up you folks.

Oh, YEAH! Turkey, stuffing, yams, etc., etc.

All the remaining turkey was made into a turkey ala king, but I pulled out enough for one more plate of thankfulness. Not sure who got stuffed more - me or the bird.

Mmmm! Turkey ala king sounds great right about now. The yams my mother prepared this time were sooo good. Her and I are the only two who like yams, but we ate them up.

Granpappy and I are decorating the cabin with Christmas lights. Nothing fancy, just lights and holly wreaths.

Are you decorating outside this year? My brother does a great job in his front yard with reindeer and lights on the house and fence, and a Santa Claus at the front door to greet everyone. It is really pretty.

Just those ice-blue LED icicle lights under the gutters & eaves across the front. Garage, porch & Second-story BRs/Bath. Those 2nd story eaves are accessible by the sharp sloped roof & my ladder isn't quite long enough. Able to get a loaner for the day & hopefully designed to permit hook-n-pole from my ladder in the future.

Weath on door & the tree visible through the open window in the front sitting room.

That must be very pretty, Beetle. A lot of work -- hope you will be careful.

I love my neighbor's decorations. She has Santa in a hot air balloon. It takes up most of her yard.

Those hot air balloons are cute. My sister has one with snowmen and Santa in it. It also plays music.
