If they were farm eggs, I'd say go ahead. My grandmother raised chickens & left her eggs out all the time. They were always fine, but her chickens were healthy, too.

So, with store-bought eggs (what we always called them!), I'm not sure they won't have grown lots of salmonella (which still may be killed by cooking-I don't know). I think it depends on how warm they really got & for how long. I don't think those coolers they keep them in in the stores are really refrigerator cold, either, especially for the ones on top/in front.

Yeah, these are local farm eggs. I'll do that then - thanks!

Isn't it interesting how we grow up with different ideas about what to refrigerate? I'd never think about leaving eggs out. But for example I know some people leave butter out on the counter, and I always refrigerate that too ...

I usally leave my butter out too, but now that its so hot i put it in the fridge. Its just not the same to try and spread it on bread.

So we went and bought a bin composter and put in the farthest corner of the garden away from the house, so far so good everything seems to be working or decaying like it should.

Its called a thermal composter. It looks like a square plastic box with a lid. There are slits that run down the sides and the middle, with a little door at the bottom to take the finished goods out.

I am waiting to fine free pallets for making a three bin compost area. Right now i am just using my kitchen scraps pail and a plastic crate. There are tons of pallets available for free but have not had the time yet to make getting them a priority.

I also now have access to free aged horse manure to add to my sheet composting area!
