I've been searching the internet lately for the best romance movies. I noticed a lot of sites with a listings of the top romance movies of all time, and I find it kinda odd that "Somewhere In Time" with Christopher Reeves is nowhere to be found. I think this is one of the most romance films ever made. A story of a man who falls in love with a silent film starlet and goes back in time to meet her. And he does this by way of hypnosis. I think movies that were made in the 80's get lost somewhere in time.

Love all the ones listed but one of my all time favorites is Sliding Doors and I really liked Serendipity as silly as it was.

Oh ya, Sliding Doors had Gwyneth Paltrow, right? I liked Serendipity too. John Cusack is such a cutie.
I recently saw the Break Up with Jennifer Aniston and that dude... oh, I forget his name.
I thought it was a really good movie - but SOOOOO sad! It showed how sometimes arguments just get stupid - and when no one is willing to take the first step in repairing the relationship, that's when it starts to fall apart.

There have been at least three makes of it with different actors and each one is wonderful. I read the book at least once a year and watch the movie whenever I can.

Phantom of the Opera. "Music of the Night" is the most seductive song. Gerard, take me! (yes, hubby knows how I feel)

I've never seen Jane Eyre, I'll have to check it out.
Phantom of the Opera was great too.

There is this teenage movie called A Walk to Remember with Mandy Moore. I always cry at that movie.

Titanic? Yes, yes, I know I've heard how romantic it is, but I just can't bring myself to watch a movie when I know it ends badly LOL!!
A Walk to Remember was very sweet.
Speaking of Mandy Moore, I thought her movie, Because I Said So was very cute --- a darling romantic comedy - I loved Dianne Keaton in it.

Diane Keaton is a fabulous, and fabulous looking actress. I love her quirky style in clothes. My favorite Diane Keaton movies are the Father of the Bride series, followed by Because I Said So and Somthing's Gotta Give.

I have to check out Because I Said So. I Love Diane Keaton in her mom roles and Something's Gotta Give is one of my favorites. Keanu Reeves is so damn hot. The older he gets the more I like him.
Have you seen him in The Lake House with Sandra Bullock? He's so sexy in that and what about Sweet November and A Walk In The Clouds. Love him in all those.

A Walk in the Clouds...great movie. I saw parts of Sweet November. I just saw the Lake House recently - that was good too. I think he is extremely hot.
The only movies I didn't like him in - I can't think of the name of them, but he played a "surfer dude" type guy.

I LOVED her in Baby Boom - she was fantastic.
Another GREAT movie of hers - The Family Stone. I LOVE LOVE that movie! It's funny and bittersweet. Sarah Jessica Parker plays the most hilarious role!
I also loved Something's Gotta Give.
I liked the Father of the Bride - the second was so-so.

Yes I agree. I think he's much better in action, romance, or sci fi films. I think you're thinking of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure or Parenthood. Most of his 80's characters were very surfer dude even in Dangerous Liasons he came across that way : )

My hubby is not a movie person.
He gets too ancy. Up and down - something to do.
On occasion - but that's the exception LOL.
I was watching "He's Just Not That Into You," a VERY cute romantic comedy, and my husband just sighed at me LOL.
I could name the movies we've gone to see in the movie theater in the last five years on one hand LOL!

We watch tons of movies together except movies that require are too deep or serious or too indie and isn't into reading subtitles that much either.
I do feel lucky that Jus has three girls becuase he's used to watching a lot of girly films and doesn't mind them.
I actually started liking some horror because of him but he still isn't into some stuff I really love i.e. Space Odyssey 2001, The Last Word, Dakota Skye (great indie movie), Donnie Darko are all movies I watched solo and that's find by me : )
