My husband and I just started a tai chi class about a month ago. It is wonderful for stress reduction and I sleep great for the first time in years!

I highly recommend it if you have trouble sleeping.

Wow that's great to hear! I definitely have heard from several people that when they began exercising - really anything at all - that it helped their sleep patterns. So whatever exercise you enjoy, get out and do it! Even dancing around the living room helps smile

My sleep has been improving, thankfully. I am really working on getting a non-vampire schedule going, and my new dr approved me for 20 tablets of ambien. So I will be able to get sleep on the really bad nights now.

Jilly - that is wonderful! Definitely, find ways to sleep peacefully. A healthy sleep is the first step towards having the best chance of a good day.

Tai Chi is a wonderful way to ease stress. Not only is it good for the body, but the mind as well.

I really like melatonin to help out. My friend who has been advanced to candidacy for a PhD in biochem says that any extra you take turns into antioxidants, and its pretty safe even for kids.
When I can't sleep I give myself permission to get up and do calm tasks or activities - seems to take my mind off of whatever and relaxes me so I can sleep, which is nice.

Melatonin becomes antioxidants? That sounds wonderful. I will go to my health food store and grab some. I have my ambien but i do not want to be addicted to it.

Does SleepyTime tea help anyone? It's been a decade or more since I've had some. I don't remember if it actually helps.

Jilly,
My sister and my MIL swears by Sleepytime tea. I found that it really didn't make me sleepy.
