Wood Buffalo National Park is 44,000+ square kilometers in Alberta, Cananda and was created in 1922 to protect one of the largest inland freshwater deltas in the world. This delta is also a crossing point for all four North American flyways for migratory birds and is the last (or one of the last) remaining natural nesting area for endangered whooping cranes.
Megan, that is a really cool article and looks like a great place to hike! Thanks for sharing all the good information.
