Really Good Information about Diabetes

The Diabetes Health magazine eNewsletter has a good article:
Really Great Information about Diabetes Medications

Quote:
Here is a list of all the AHRQ publications about diabetes.

Among the summary guides, a couple of the best are the Guide to Premixed Insulin for Type 2 Diabetes and the Guide to Pills for Type 2 Diabetes. They're a lot like Consumer Reports for diabetes meds, right down to the grid charts with the check marks. Both guides start with the basics, even including directions on how to pronounce hypoglycemia, but they're also remarkably thorough. The pill guide compares every pill, from its good effects to its side effects, and concludes with detailed pricing comparisons. The premixed insulin guide also starts with the basics and is equally comprehensive, starting with a diabetes primer and again ending with price comparisons. If you are at all confused about diabetes pills or premixed insulin, take a look at these guides. After reading them, you won't be confused any longer.

I highly recommend the Children with Diabetes web page for Type One diabetes information.

Over 68% of patients with Type II Diabetes suffer from Hypochlorhydria or Achlorhydria. Many of these people are seriously overweight, and have difficulty loosing weight. One of the contributing factors to this problem is the lack of conversion and sterilization of the nutrients consumed. When proteins are starches are not converted in the Stomach, they enter the Small bowel and result in a build up of body fat. Proper diet and exercise will cause a reduction in body fat, however the lack of proper conversion in the Gut will not allow the person to maintain the desired weight. The ingestion of acid foods causes the body's cell structure to release Glycogen from the liver and inturn prevents the body from burning fat. Correction the unbalanced pH conditon of the digestive process will improve the glucose tolerance curves of many of these patients. Correcting the unbalanced conditon in the digestive process can be acomplished by having a pH diagnostic test.
