Not if it destroys the world's economy.

Cleaner is always better. But that is not the issue. Al Gore and his ilk want to alarm politicians into passing legislation that would destroy the economy of the world, not just the U.S., by insisting that burning fossil fuel changes the Earth's climate.

Why not just claim that we need cleaner air to breathe? No, that would not allow so-called green companies to soak the taxpayer for gov grants that enrich the investors in such companies. Al Gore himself has enriched his bank account by millions of dollars by this method.

The so-called "deniers" have nothing financially to gain; they just don't want junk science to destroy the economy of the world. Conservation of resources and keeping the Earth clean are a very different issues from the junk science of "global warming."

Notice that because there has been no "warming" in more than a decade, the buzz phrase is now "climate change." That should be a red flag.

I know I would rather have cleaner air, water and land and if we don't get control of the use of fossil fuel we will never have that.

I remember after the last gas crises in the '70s everyone was on the bandwagon and unfortunately, most fell off the bandwagon including government and private industry. Many of us have been trying to be green for a long time and like many a crises (as R. Emanuel says, 'don't let a crises go to waste") we've been there before. The last one as I recall where we spent big bucks was Y2K.

We all need to do our part. No one is saying we shouldn't care.
