icp, Very well said. Thank you so much for makiing me see what you said. I know there is nothing I can do to change the way things were. Its the past. I am moving forward but like you said, the holidays are a hard time for many people who lost their loved ones. I am feeling a little better today. You have helped me as the others on this message board did too. Its hard but I know I will get thru this. Only time will tell.

Thank god for family and friends who have been here for me and been supportive.

Again, thank you!

Julie

Julie, you will be in my thoughts and prayers the coming weeks, so keep us updated on how you are doing.

Here's some more things I do to make it through the Holidays. I let myself cry when I need to. There are documented physical benefits, especially for women, I think.

I smile and laugh at every opportunity. If I don't have an opportunity, I make one by remembering something crazy funny, or digging out a favorite comedy to watch.

I try to stay away from "emotional" holiday shows and movies, unless I'm feeling the need for a good cry. Then I'll watch, as they can help to "get it all out."

The best thing, I've already mentioned, is finding some way to help some one during the Holidays. This can be emotional too, but it's a "good" emotional. It's helps to get me out of myself. That doesn't really sound right, but is the best way I can word it. I think you'll understand.

Icp,

Very good suggestions. Next week i will be going to my grief workshop to help our loved ones get through the holidays. I went last year. It helped. I know I will get thru all of this. I talked to the doctor today. He gave me some meds to try to help depression so we shall see how that works but i dont want to rely on depression meds, I dont like taking them but if it helps, I guess I'll need to stick with it till I can wean off of them.

I will keep you posted how my grief workshop goes next week.

Again, thank you,

Julie
