My salad tonight was spinach, radishes, cucumbers, boiled eggs and turkey and ham lunch meat with red onions and sunflower kernels, cheese and about 5 garlic and basil croutons. Don't like tomatoes and I live in sunny hot Tucson AZ and sure wish I could grow my own veggies but they would burn as soon as they came up out of the ground.

I bought a jar of roasted red peppers and added some to my salad. What a great addition.

that's a great idea Granny! What a delicious salad Boopsie! You know my boyfriend keeps saying he wants to move to Arizona and I think it is just TOOOO hot there I love to grow a garden! My salad today was a fresh green mix with little tomatoes, olives, mixed cheese, and a new gluten-free dressing which I'll write up tomorrow! It was really good

Lisa, you can have a garden in AZ...the growing season is different. Since the winters rarely go below 40 and are in the 80's by Feb and rarely in the 100's before May...planting the end of Dec and harvesting in the spring would be a good time. Or...conversely a garden could be planted in Sept. when the temps go back into the 90's and harvest before the temps go into the 40's at night. I haven't heard of them getting a killing frost like we have around here. It would be extremely rare...in Phoenix anyway. Flagstaff has weather just like PA where I live. Same vegetation too. It's the altitude...no desert in Flagstaff. The up side is...if you get tired of the heat...go north about 2-3 hours and the weather changes. I'll do that becasue I'll miss fall..but I'll stay put until all the snow is gone...

LOL that's a good point, there are always good sides of being anywhere!
My salad for today was a nice salad mix, cheeses, olives, little tomatoes from the garden, pine nuts and Organicville olive oil & balsamic vinaigrette - gluten free! I'll write a review of that shortly!

Delicious salad today! Bob made it for me Salad mix, pine nuts, cheese mix, fresh little tomatoes from the garden, fresh cucumber from the garden, tuna fish, bacon bits, olives. And the Organicville Provance herbs salad dressing. Tasty!! Bob even had a big salad too, he doesn't eat salads nearly as often I do. So a double victory for salads!

That sounds *delicious*! Strawberries sound like a great addition!
Bob and I are doing really well with making big salads for dinner, we have them every other day or so and they always make my mouth water. I have a variety of dressings so I rotate through them to keep it new and interesting.
I definitely recommend sprinkling in a few raisins - just having a few of them makes a big difference!

Right now I'm having tuna fish with cottage cheese, is that like a salad? With a nice glass of wine

Throw in a clery stick and a carrot stick and it will be official.
