I totally agree with Phyllis. You have to earn their respect. I would not give in to their whims. They are just using you. If you spent so much money on their clothes, their clothes should have stayed at your house. From now on, make sure of it and tell them up front. If you bought her car insurance, and is ungrateful about it, then make her pay for her portion of your plan, or threaten to cancel her. GIVE GRIEF BACK TO HER! Yes, it'll be hard for awhile, but she will eventually understand that you are NOT a door mat than can be manipulated and used. If they sit with their backs toward you, then leave and go do something else, so they don't have the pleasure of "getting to you". Sometimes it just makes sense to give it back to them. and really, what can it hurt? it's not like there is any great relationship now that will be harmed.
