Good one, I didn't think Narwhals ranged this far north but evidently they do indeed range to the polar ice. Not in the waters off Alaska though unfortunately.BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Please use UBB code. Hey Frosty,
If you want to post a link on the forum, simply take off the "http" part. Cut and paste beginning with "www" and it will show up just fine. smile

I've located sources that discuss Alaskan Inuits hunting Narwahls & that the Narwahl is rare, but located infrequently or rarely off Alaskan coasts.

Sadly for Beetlemess, Frosty is right on this one though. The Narwhal whale, while definitely being an "arctic" whale ... is found on the opposite ocean. Arctic Canada and on up to Greenland on the Atlantic side.

This sure is getting interesting. Darn, if I don't watch it I'm going to actually LEARN something! easter

Yep, I found similar references. Unfortunately, "occassional and/or rare visitor" do not quality as "native to Alaska" and thus cannot be counted for the purpose of our game.

But we DO have a good "N" answer from visitor Vance!
Yep, Norther Pike do definitely populate the lakes of Alaska. It is sort of a love-hate relationship. Anglers love them for the challenge and fight they put up, but they also compete for resources for our salmon and trout.

Way to go, Vance! One point for you - and welcome to the game! smile

You got the point for "N", Vance! Good work solving our little mystery even if it wasn't a crime ;-)

OK, the next letter is "O". Oh my goodness ... what Alaskan animal can we come up with whose name starts with the letter "O". I can think of two right off, but since I can't play, I'll wait for one of you to think of them. whistle

Yep, you did! "Otter" is a good one. I missed that! OK ... btw, Beetlemess is currently the leader in this contest guys and gals - you better put your thinking caps on <g>.
