Well, it's Follow Friday again! List your Twitter name after this post if you want a shout-out today.

So to make a Follow Friday post, you do this:

#FollowFriday @name @name @name @name

And insert the twitter names where I have written 'name'

You can also say something about the people you are recommending For example, you can say, Awesome BellaOnline Women! somewhere in the tweet. Most people put that info before the #FollowFriday part, but it really doesn't matter.

I think FollowFriday is a good tool but it has gotten away with itself. I like to recommend one or two people along with a message.

I don't do FollowFriday -- I agree with foodlover626 and Moe, I think it's a bit crazy. I pay a lot more attention to RTs or other specific (non-#FF) recommendations.

Follow Friday is a huge meme, for sure, and can be a little meaningless without adding some kind of context to the message. But I also think it's nice to receive a shout-out, and it's fun to try to remember to mention people, as a thank you of sorts, on Twitter. It's like sending someone a flower, in my eyes. I often forget to thanks people in my own life, and I enjoy having the reminder to do so on Fridays.

I like #FollowFriday a whole lot more than the #MusicMonday meme, for example, as I am not very music-oriented and don't care what people are listening to. Even though I know lots of people really enjoy sharing and reading that kind of info! It's all in what you personally enjoy :-)
