Just planted our topsey turvee last night. The topsey turve itself is light weight.
We put two tomatoe plants in each one and added potting soil. And we did put them on a sturdy t pole.
I just hope we get some good tomatoes..

I will be interested in knowing how things go! We saw one at a local store the other day in the garden section and it was loaded with blooms. The guy told us they had gotten 400 of the topsey turvees in and in 4 days they were sold out. Connie

So many people are talking about them this year. It's amazing how an idea can take off. I don't think topsy turvies are new either but for some reason gardening is popular this year.

My husband has been gardening since we got married. I enjoy working out in the yard. Picking the garden may be another issue all together! That vegetable garden is his baby and I am not allowed in there unless he tells me LOL. I am always bringing something home to plant. The last time I planted a tree he didn't like where I put it but I had asked him several times to do it and then decided I didn't need him to plant my tree. I told him he should be happy that I enjoy doing things like that! Connie

I haven't done much gardening in years. Last year I took an interest in container gardening and this year my deck almost looks like a jungle and I wish I had more. I'm having fun with it now. I use miracle gro soil and it is wonderful.

I grew up on a farm and so we always had a huge garden. I guess that is where I get my love of dirt from! There sure isn't anything that beats the taste of that fresh picked tomato! Connie

Tomatoes in the winter are like eating cardboard. They are tasteless. I find that fruits and veggies are picked too early and do not ripen well. I enjoy fresh summer veggies. What a difference.

Well, rather than give my thoughts of the upside-down tomato planter here. Can anyone tell me what actual benefits there are to growing your tomatoes upside down in a planter that costs around $10.00 a piece versus reusing a free nursery pot on a bench or table? I guess I'm just confused.

gardenchik, I think it is just a convienience thing. Most people have some place to hang a basket but maybe not place for a garden.
