Have any of you tried the Mayberry Bible studies? I am thinking of doing this and don't know where to get started.

I was OP yesterday. (I've said that 3 times now and it kinda feels like I'm bragging! ) It wasn't as bad as last week. The struggle was less. That is not bragging hon, it is just keeping yourself accountable. I'm gonna do that too! It helps! I am GLAD that you are OP Brenda and that the struggle has been easier for you this week! We are all familiar with that struggle. Ok, that creeps me out a little. That hugging smilie says "lovers"! Um, Brenda, I ain't tryin' to pick up on you! Yesterday I was OP all day too. (Ok, I DID have 3 tater tots, but it doesn't seem to have hurt me. *grin* ) I just need to get off these extra pounds so that I can "restart" at the point where I was at before! DOH! Laura, I'm glad to see you back too. It sounds like you've got a lot going on in your life right now. Are you getting your house ready to sell too? That's so much work! We'll be working on the backyard to try to get the grass to look more "perfect". Back a few years we had a drought. I got out in the backyard everyday and watered to make sure the grass didn't die. Unfortunately, it just attracted crab grass that was growing along the fence in the common area. The grounds here look beautiful, but my grass hasn't looked the same since. Other than that all we'll be doing is painting a few rooms and replacing a lamp outside that DD broke when she was moving out. DOH! She was carrying some really tall disassembled bookshelves and didn't realize how long they were. Totally annihilated the lamp on our carport post. Janis, you can do this thing. I know you can. You can do all things through Christ! But if anyone in this world knows how hard it is to lose weight and to stay motivated, I do! Especially when we spend so much time at home. Then it's like, no one will see me anyway so what's the big deal. But for me, I want to be healthier for DD. We don't have any family that would step in and take care of her if I wasn't able. I DON'T want to see that happen!!! No, of course not! Funny, but I always assumed that you had family right there with you near where you live. Where are they? Do you guys get along? You know the history of my dysfunctional family. UGH. Let us know what we can do to help. Same goes for me too Janis. I don't know about you but I am getting very impatient with myself and my version of "baby steps". For me it means more like..."two steps forward and one step back." I am just SICK of that. ALL I have to do is focus and *I can do this thing!* So, for the last few days at least, I've done pretty good. I'm gonna keep at it, and not concentrate so much on cooking all the yummy stuff. This is what I need. I really, really need to exercise. I was thinking of loading a sermon on my mp3 player and hitting the street. But, let's just cut to the chase here, I am so lazy and will think of any excuse not to do it. The truth aint pretty, girls. I am going out for a walk as soon as I finish this post. Wanna join me? I'll walk for about an hour. Not at the park, but in the neighborhood outside ours. I have a MAJOR hormone headache right now, (and it gets especially bad when I have my hairclip in to pull my hair up while exercising,) but I am gonna get out anyway. I figure it will go away once I get out there right? DH and I took a long walk on Sat. morning and it felt sooo good to be back at it! Just DO IT girlie!

Ok, that creeps me out a little. That hugging smilie says "lovers"! Um, Brenda, I ain't tryin' to pick up on you! Well, Laura, based on past conversations, you're the last person I'd feel threatened by! As for the family thing, I have lost both of my parents. I was super close to both of them, but especially my mom. I do have brothers but we aren't in touch with each other at all. We just don't have much common ground. I doubt if a few of them would even recognize my DD if she showed up on their doorsteps. DH's family... well, that's a whole 'nother can of worms. Some of them are ok, and some of them raise my blood pressure just thinking about them. I love that you are so motivated right now! If you do yard work, you'll burn some serious calories. This is my vow to you... I will exercise today. I'm not sure what it will be yet but I will do something and then come back and report it here. I hope your headache goes away! Janis, did you watch Idol last night? I just can't get into Adam.

Well, Laura, based on past conversations, you're the last person I'd feel threatened by! You know it! Hee hee. As for the family thing, I have lost both of my parents. I'm sorry to hear that Brenda. If you told me before, I forgot. ( I do that often!) I bet you miss them terribly. I was super close to both of them, but especially my mom. I do have brothers but we aren't in touch with each other at all. We just don't have much common ground. I doubt if a few of them would even recognize my DD if she showed up on their doorsteps. It is practically like that with my family and my kids too. It's sad, but my beotch of a sister was bound and determined that me and my family weren't gonna be included, so, that's the way it went. I pretty much hate my mom for letting that happen too. I pray for them ALL, but I don't like any of them. DH's family... well, that's a whole 'nother can of worms. Some of them are ok, and some of them raise my blood pressure just thinking about them. I know how that goes too! Do they live near you? I love that you are so motivated right now! If you do yard work, you'll burn some serious calories. True dat! Especially in this hot sun! This is my vow to you... I will exercise today. I'm not sure what it will be yet but I will do something and then come back and report it here. YAY!!! I will hold you to that! Guess what? I just got back from a 1 hour walk. That is really not the "news" though. I was sitting at our side gate (hot and sweaty) waiting for someone to drive up and open it. They used to have a pedestrian gate there that you could open with your key, but when they installed new gates they got rid of the pedestrian gate. STUPID! Anyway, I was sitting there and this guy stops a little ways away from me. I wasn't looking so he called "Excuse me. I don't mean to bother you, but are you ok?" I kinda laughed and told him I was just waiting for someone to open the gate. So he told me he just wanted to be sure I wasn't just spent & exhausted because he had-had a heart attack when he was younger so you just never know. He said he was 31 when he had it! Anyway we talked a little and then he introduced himself and asked me my name. Then he invited me to go for a cup of coffee! I was JAZZED because this guy was really CUTE!!! So I told him I was married and had been for 24 years, and then he laughed and said he didn't wanna get shot. I tell ya though, IT MADE MY DAY! I mean, if he would've been ugly or so-so then it wouldn't of been any big deal, but this guy was a 41 year old HOTTIE!!! Whoo hooo! Ok, now I am REALLY motivated!

Laura and Hottie Boy sittin' in a tree, drinking all the coffee, saving none for me. Guess what!?! I exercised! I did 15 minutes on the Gazelle and my legs were so wobbly I almost didn't make it down the stairs! I know 15 minutes isn't much, but I have to start somewhere. And I'm going to be so sore from it, I will be paying for it tomorrow. Also, I didn't want to over-do it too much and ruin my little family trip away this weekend. I want to do the Gazelle again tomorrow! Thankfully, DH's family lives about 100 miles from me. Where does your sister and mom live?

Thankfully, DH's family lives about 100 miles from me. Where does your sister and mom live? Both live hundreds of miles away, so basically, not far enough.

Brenda, you are not bragging! Like Laura said, you're staying accountable! Good job, girl! Keep it up. And good job on the exercise! That's awesome. I ate a banana for breakfast and then had a sandwich for lunch. Don't know what's for dinner yet, but there is still a little left over grilled chicken, so I might make a nice chicken salad. Yum! I can't get into Adam, either. I did NOT like the way he did If I Can't Have You last night. My favorite is Kris, but I'm a little worried about him this week. I started calling for him as soon as the show was over and only got one busy signal! I hope it's not the end for him. He is such a cutie pie! Laura, I felt a little funny, too, about , but I knew you'd understand. How fun to be hit on by a hottie! You go girl!!! You're right, that would be great motivation! Hey, I love tater tots. To only eat 3 of them is quite an accomplishment, I would say. Good going, girlie. You know, this is horrible to say, but I actually love tater tot casserole! I've run out of time here. I've got to go pick up my girl from school. I'll pop in again later on.

Good morning ladies. I hope you are all well. I'm living dangerously and typing on DD's laptop again. I was OP yesterday. I am going to exercise again today. Laura, I didn't even think of doing upper body. That shows you how out of it I have become. Janis, good job on your eating plan! You can do it. When I get on a better computer I'm going to tell you how I am eating. I think you might like it. Or not. We are still cheering for Danny. He is a Praise and Worship leader and he soooooo reminds us of the P&W leader at our church. Kris is a cutie too!!! I like the way he changes the songs! Laura, let's exercise today. Want to? Your motivation is motivating me! I am going to hit submit now before I lose this post!

Ok, I did 15 minutes on the gazelle and 10 minutes of weights and crunches. I'm gonna keel over now. *thud*

Brenda, wake up! BRENDA...WAKE UP!!! Hey, you did vetty, vetty good! I am proud of you! I have not done too much today. I ran to the bank (well, not literally!), then to the post office, then to get water and then to the grocery store. I'm back home now and really don't feel like doing much of anything today. My friend and I were supposed to get together and work on our Bible study, but neither of us felt like it. It's a lovely, cool day today...YAY...but I am just feeling lazy. I plan on making my Chicken Rice Pilaf tonight for dinner and then it'll be an early evening of tv watching for me because Hayley has went to spend the night at her friend's house. Should be a nice, peaceful night. You know, I really like Danny, too. He seems like such a sweetheart! I'm so glad him and Kris were safe this week. Did you happen to see Lil Rounds mother giving Simon the death stare? That was a riot! Boy, she was so mad! And then after Kris had performed, Simon mentioned what a difference there was between his performance and the last performance (which had been Lil's) and there sat her mother just glaring at Simon! I know I shouldn't probably laugh about that, but for some reason, I just thought it was so funny. I know that I would probably be doing the same thing if that were my daughter he was talking about. So, what's on tv on Thursday nights? Anything good? If not, I guess I could pull out my Everybody Loves Raymond reruns or my Frasier reruns or my Andy Griffith reruns or my I Love Lucy reruns or my Golden Girls reruns. Maybe there will be a good movie to watch! Laura, how are you doing today? What's going on with your weather? We were already up to 107 just a few days ago, but today it's a glorious 78. We had a nice, cool, overcast morning which bled over into the afternoon and just started to burn off about an hour ago. Maybe I'll have to put one of the blankets back on my bed tonight! I hope! I love for it to be cold and then have nice, soft, snuggly warm blankets piled on me. Lynne, how are you doing? Do you work everyday in a hair salon? I've been with my hair dresser for a number of years now and two years ago, she branched off on her own and opened her own shop. She sets her own hours now and is just really enjoying herself. She loves to go to those fun hair training classes to keep you up to date and now she's doing hair extentions. While the hair extentions look pretty and all, I don't think I would stand not being able to run a comb through my hair. I would think it would drive a person nuts! I watched her and another stylist one day as they were taking out someone's hair extentions and it looked like such a tedious job! Do you do hair extentions, too? I guess they're quite costly, so there's good money in doing them. Well, I'm going to head off and start my dinner now. Hope you all are having a nice, enjoyable evening.
