I love that idea, Nannie!

There was a woman named Laurel Lee (might have been a pseudonym) back in the 1970s who published her journals about her struggles with Hodgkins Disease. The first one was called Walking Through The Fire but I can't recall the title of the second. They were full of her sketches too. Wonderful books!

I feel it is incredibly inspiring to read about people who are struggling with serious issues. It reminds the rest of us of just how easy our lives are, no matter what we are facing.

I do too, Lisa, but then, if I'm being truly honest with myself, I have to admit something... I get to feeling guilty for whining so about my own issues, and then I feel kind of mad at myself for being such a selfish old poot of a person, and it makes for a good long but slightly negative rant in my journal.

It's like the stuff you get in the mail asking for donations. One I'll never forget was from from a society that assisted the blind and vision-impaired. Their letter requesting money began with the squirm-inducing:

"Dear Friend who can see..."

Yikes! i thought! There's a super guilt trip travel agent!
