Great articles Sharon! I guess I view change both ways... sometimes if I get caught up in it and get all dramatic, it will take me a little longer to see the positive LOL.

Th vision board sounds kind of like an outline for your life with pictures! laugh

As far as change goes, it depends in what the change is.

I will note, that most psychologists will tell you that any kind of change, good or bad, is stressful. That is why they urge people to try and make only one major change at a time. Like if you are expecting a baby (happy change), and you need a bigger home - buy the house as early as possible so you won't be moving and dealing with brand new baby at the same time!

As I read your article, I realized I had done that when I was going to be president of the local historical society. I made list, envisioned how I hoped it would turn out, pictured myself doing things that I wanted to accomplish. It does work.

Sometimes you have to take me kicking and screaming into change - other times I can't wait. I guess I'm more comfortable with change I can control.

I have come to a realization that all we need in this country is strength for the journey. As a country, we are all in the journey of hope, change, restructuring and so on but for all this that we asked for, we forgot to that we also need strength to get through all of this to the end. You and I wake up every morning of not knowing what to expect and this, on its own is a drainer. The negative news that is going around has become frustrating because there are not giving any options or good vibe that everything will be fine. The economy, unemployment, inflation, security, expectations, and news have sucked up all our energy and which is now making me question the journey called "CHANGE". I guess we never thought about how exhausting it will be. We need to start encouraging everybody around us to gather the strength for this journey because that is all that we need right now Sharon!

Sharon....loved your vision board on your web-site!! Kudos!!

As for change, I think Michelle is right with what the professionals say (as I've been told!) In my own life it seems there has been an abundance of major changes for a while now. Being a "I like my feet planted firmly on the ground" kind of woman, I have had to adapt to the changes, good or bad because they were necessary.

So I would say that I started on my journey a long time ago hoping for all of the good change to take place in a nice saunter-like pace but ahhh, life just doesn't always handle that the way we would like. I guess you learn to grow at some point and still hope for a bit of that lazy-day-walk kind of change from time to time smile

Change can be wonderful but reorganizing one's life can be an ordeal. When life around us is constant, that relieves some of the pressure. Right now the economic problems, combined with the change in administration who wants to change everything, all one can do is hope that life at home is constant and routine so that we can function rationally.

I'm a big fan of change, probably because I grew up moving every year! I love getting to know new places, jobs, people, etc...for me, it's the constant and routine that's a struggle! And the Fates are laughing, as I'm married to a guy who loves routine :-) (don't they all?).

But, I've definitely found that as I age, I become happier with things staying the same. I've finally found a job I LOVE (fulltime freelance writer), and would never want to work anywhere else! That's one good thing about getting older...you settle in to life a little more...and I think life gets easier in some ways.
