Hi ladies.
It's been a busy Saturday already. I went to Book Club this morning. It usually lasts at least 2 hours. We're going through Come Thirsty by Max Lucado. We have some great discussions and have really gotten to kow each other.
I still have two newsletters to send out for the Hair site and the Christian Living site, catching up on forum posts and some writing to do.

In between, I'll clean the kitchen and the rest of the house, shop for groceries and take my grandaughter shopping for her 11th birthday. She is past the age where I can just buy her something. She is very particular.

Hi girls! Lynne, sounds like you live a whirlwind kind of life! It's so wonderful when you actually ENJOY what you do for a living. :D What kind of writing do you do? I enjoy the proofreading and editing part of writing. I've written a couple of bible studies, but other than that I don't enjoy how time-consuming writing is. Have you gotten any feedback about why we can't get the quote feature to work here or the smilies? Brenda, ~congrats~ on your total weight loss! Slow but steady wins the race, right? You are doing an ***AWESOME*** job with that! I am not "on" my eating plan this weekend. I'm not scarfing down food, but not watching what I eat either. I made chocolate chip cookies yesterday. I don't suppose I'm the ONLY one who puts in 2 1/2 cups of chocolate chips instead of 2 cups, right? *grin* Stephanie, how is your father doing? Keep us updated mmmm-k? I am praying for all of you, and for your business to pick up too. You KNOW the Lord will provide! (((hugs))) Janis, I too am looking forward to when tax season is over so that you can come and play more often. :D How did Hayley's sleepover go? Any drama? Any good gossip about boys? :D Holiday, whuzzup? Don't be a stranger. :)

Hey girlies. :) I hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. As for me, I still have this crud.that.will.not.go.away. Other than that, things are good. Sunday School was fun this morning. I think I have a better time than the kids do. :) Laura, thanks for the kind words about my weight loss. I am so ready to be done with this thing, but in reality, it never goes away. You can't turn your back on the beast. Uh, except on weekends. LOL Lynne, your bookclub sounds like fun! Janis, what are you doing today?

Hi ladies. I came in earlier today, made a nice, long post, and poof, it vanished. I didn't have the patience or energy to retype it. Sorry! :D Brenda, the girls ended up watching their own homemade movies and they were doing plenty of giggling and laughing from what I could hear. I ended up falling asleep on the bed and never got to see much of anything! But, that is the story of my life. Come Friday evening, I'm so pooped out from the past weeks events that even though I'm exicted about watching some things on tv, it never happens because I always fall asleep. It was 2 am before I woke up, discovered the lights and tv were still on and I hadn't brushed my teeth. Grrrrr! As for what I did today...I made homemade chicken noodle soup tonight for dinner, and I even made the homemade noodles! Let me tell you, this soup was awesome! I'm sitting here waiting for my stomach to unload a little so I can go back for another bowl. It was really, really good! Lynne, you are a busy girl! I did manage to get some laundry done but not much of anything else. Another story of my life! :D My daughter, Hayley, who's 13, is still pretty easy to buy for. Not so much for my mom, of course, but I pretty much know what she'll like. Once in a while, I have to take somethings back, but usually she likes what I pick out. I'll enjoy it while it lasts because I know the time is coming when she probably won't be as gracious towards me and my choices. :D Laura, I'm not on an eating plan, either. I'm just eating very simple meals during the week. Sandwiches and salads and tonight, soup. However, my weekends tend to be blow-outs. Anything goes, it seems. I guess it's because right now during tax season, I don't have the time to cook like I normally do, so that's why I went the extra mile today to make a really good dinner. Last weekend I never cooked at all because we had handbells Saturday and the next day, my only day off, I sure didn't feel like cooking then. Today I felt pretty rested. Tomorrow starts the new week and of course, I always dread Monday's because they are my swamped days. I need to get to the store, though, to pick up some lunch meat for the coming week. Maybe tomorrow after work, I'll stop and get some. Hope all you ladies had a nice Sunday. I sure did. My sister came over and it was nice to spend part of the day with her. Don't get to see a lot of her lately.

Good morning girls! I am afraid to get on the scale this morning but I will soon. UGH. I dread it this morning because I am sooo swollen from all the JUNK that I've got lines all over me. Ever notice when you don't eat well you get FUZZY brained? I tell ya, it's NOT worth it! I am hung over from JUNK eating! DOH! Brenda, are we hopping back on that wagon this morning? I sure am! I don't feel like eating a darn thing. I'm getting some kind of *funk* too, because I woke up with one whole side of my head hurting and my sinuses on that side full. Got a fever and dizziness too. I'm just gonna take it easy today. Are you over your funk yet? I would love to see you teaching your Sunday school class. I bet it's all kinds of fun. :D Kids are the BEST! Speaking of kids, my DD moved in with her boyfriend and another couple into a beautiful new apartment. It's "roommate" style, with the bedrooms on either side of the living/dining area. They have a washer and dryer in the apartment too. I'm not *happy* that her and BF are living together, but she is almost 23, soooo, all I can do is keep nudging. They've been together about 6 months now. He does treat her really good, and pay for most of their bills. We like him, although I've told her that if he isn't "the one" and she wants to get married, then she is just burning up time. Her response? "Well....we did get a dog together." DOH!! Stephanie, I hope you are doing well my friend. :) Janis, hang in there girlie! Only 24 more days until tax season is OVER!!! *waves hi* to Lynne and Holiday. :)

Good morning ladies! Laura, I'm really enjoying being in our new home (Bella). I look forward to meeting with you ladies everyday. :) I know what you mean about over-doing the junk food. Today, I'm taking some of my chicken noodle soup to work with me, so that will prevent me from pigging out on something else. A lot of times, the ladies in the office go out for lunch and they are usually fattening lunches consisting of cheeseburgers, fries and a drink. I can't eat that much food and then want to continue working! It makes me sluggish and want to go find a bed somewhere to lay on. :D So I find that I perform better on a lite lunch. Brenda, how are you feeling today? I hope you're starting to feel human again! A few weeks ago, I felt like I was coming down with something, but my body must have fought it off. I really don't want to get sick during tax season, because I can't take the time off. Last year I worked through 3 days of fever and an achy body before I could relax over the weekend. Not fun! Stephanie, how is your dad doing? I hope he's home by now. Lynne, what are your plans for the day? Holiday, where are you? You've been absent a few days. Hope you're alright. I'm going to try to post a picture of my chicken noodle soup from last night, but I don't know if it'll work. Here goes! Well, it looks like it's not going to work. It was there a minute ago but now it's not. Darn it! Anyway, I hope you ladies have a very blessed day. Might not make it in after work because I have shopping to do for a lady, but I'll pop in in the morning for sure. BellaOnline ALERT: Raw URLs are not allowed in these forums for security reasons. Hello everyone. I finally got to the forums. It's after dinner and I get to sit and relax for a while. My grandaughter and a friend are spending the night since they are on spring break.I made chocolate cake for them and guess who is eating it so far. frown

Laura, I write an article every week for the Christian Living site and one for the Hair site on BellaOnline.com. Actually I've been writing two a week for the Hair site recently. I've written four ebooks (see my signature.)
I'm also working on a novel. (in my spare time smile )

Lisa - site owner is checking with the company who built the forum program to see what the problem is. You should be able to use smilies and quotes, etc.

Hey friends. Sorry to be MIA. I've been running around like the proverbial headless chicken trying to get ready for DD's b-day sleepover. But, I was OP yesterday and I was OP all day today. HOWEVER, let the records show, I intend to hop off the wagon on Thursday for DD's birthday. It will probably be a while before I get back on (Spring Break next week!) but I am counting on you guys to give me a boost up. I am feeling 'somewhat' better. This is the most lingering 'cold' (for lack of a better word) that I've had. It's 12 days and counting. You guys are right about the food hangover. It is just like that the next day for me. I get a horrible headache, swelling and just generally feel awful. Janis, I hate tax season with a red hot passion. I always ending up paying and it is always more than I expect it to be. This year was just awful. *cry* I had toyed with the idea of getting a pool this year, but that put an end to it. Oh well. I have never had homemade noodles before. They sound awesome. I would have loved seeing your picture. There's always email! Our pastor always talks to us about internet porn but I tell ya, his idea of porn is different than mine. Mine is usually flour based and dripping in chocolate. :) Laura, I know you are feeling bad about DD. *hugs* Is this the Jewish young man she was seeing from before? So, did you get on the scale? I didn't hear any screaming, so it must be ok. Any word on the 'home' front? Lynne, how cool that you're working on a novel. You sure have a full life. :) Btw, I don't think I could have resisted the chocolate cake either. It is right up there on my all time favorite list. *sigh*

Good morning ladies! NO WAY I could've resisted chocolate cake either. It is just.too.yummy. :) Brenda, I am LOL about your idea of "porn". :D I think that's mine too. I'm sorry this "cold" of yours is hanging on so long. Do you have allergies that could be complicating it? Yes, this is the same guy for DD. The 6'7" guy. MAN is he tall. Towers over us shorties. But he is a cutie and does treat her well. Although she has told me about some of their fights and mama AIN'T too happy with those. He isn't mean to her, but tends to not deal with issues, which I would find annoying. He tends to gloss over things. Oh well. It's not MY relationship so I'll let her deal with it. There is a certain relief that comes with your kids getting to a certain age. YOU are no longer responsible for their choices or happiness. That part of motherhood is kind of liberating. *I'm enjoying it!* I will email you about the home thing. :) The scale is "holding steady". I am very fortunate that I didn't gain any after this past weekend! OY! I will be off my eating plan tomorrow too, like you for DD's birthday. We have tickets to go to the Coral Gables Wine and Food Festival, and believe me, we are going to stuff our little faces when we are there! :D Besides live entertainment, there will be samples of dishes from all the best restaurants around the area. The wine we will try, but not much. Neither one of us are "drinkers" by any stretch. I was invited to the Sony Ericsson Tennis Open tonight too, for cocktails/hors d'oeuvres and then the tennis tournament, but DH will be working late tonight, so I really don't want to go. I really don't need ANOTHER two days in a row of eating junk! The invite was extended by Habitat for Humanity, for working for them, but I am not into tennis that much anymore, so I am kinda "meh" about it. Lynne, veddy cool that you're such a prolific writer! You must be very creative. :) Janis, I think it's great that you are making your own food and taking it into work with you. At least then you know what's in it! Believe it or not I remember last year when you were sick and working! I know how miserable that is. You don't have long to go now before tax season is ooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeeerrrrrrr! :) Are you working today? I have to get some errands run, but other than that will be home most of the day. Stephanie, how are you and how is your dad? (((hugs)))

Good morning Bella ladies. :D Lynne, could you please pass me a piece of your chocolate cake? I am suddenly craving some! *drooling* Brenda, I'm so sorry you're still trying to get over that terrible bug you have. That sure has been a long time. My friend came down with a horrible cold a few weeks ago and I was afraid I might get it, but luckily, it skipped past me. She was sick for quite a while...and is still having nose problems. Enjoy your DD's birthday blow out. I think you deserve it. :) Laura, your daughter's DBF does sound like a good guy, though. Maybe he wants to avoid conflicts because he's either afraid he might lose your daughter or he just hasn't figured out how to deal with "relationship" stuff yet. As long as he treasures her and is good to her, that's most important thing. ;) I did pretty well yesterday with my eating and tonight, since I'm going to be home, I'm thinking about throwing something in the crock pot. Maybe a nice round steak with tomatoes, peppers, onions and garlic. I'll see if we have any peppers. Or round steak! I haven't been able to do a lot of shopping lately. :) I don't have to go into work today because my boss is back in the hospital. She has congestive heart failure and her lungs were filling up with liquid, which caused her breathing to become very labored. She tried to soldier through work yesterday, but in the end just couldn't breathe anymore and had to go. They're going to drain her lungs and she might not be back at work until Monday. I was hoping to be able to save up a thousand dollars for Hayley and I to play around with over the summer, but I doubt now that I'll reach that goal. If you would, please pray for my boss, Lynda. She's only got 3 weeks to go before tax season is OVER! Thanks! Hope all you ladies are having a good day. I'll pop back in later on.
