My sick one is purple, but his fins and tail are white. Just a purple body. Poor fish. Oh, and I live in a Townhome so I pay a condo fee for them to mow my lawn!!!!!

Oh oh rns...I think your hubby should start getting nervous...

What you have to do is......find HIM a hobby...something that he has to spend money on and gets really interested in. That way, when you start spending money on your hobby...what could he say!!??

oO(works for me! )

Actually he just started to learn the acoustic guitar, but that doesn't stop him from telling me not to bring anymore pets in to the home. Just more stuff for me to take care of and get horribly upset when something happens to them, but hey, that is my nature. We don't have children yet and have been married for 3 1/2 years. He knew my love for animals before he married me so he should have known what he was getting himself in to. I don't think I will ever get bored of more animals and come, these little fish don't hurt anyone and are not expensive to care for. Not to mention that they brighten up any room in your house.

Ok, i went to the pet store just to get thermometers, and just had to walk past the bettas---but, guess what.....I found a purple one!!! He's very pretty, and when he gets settled in a little bit, I'll post a picture. I would love to see the pics of your purple ones Nannynan, and RNS----do you have any you can post? I want to see how purple, cuz this guy, is sort of a reddish purple---but close enough----hehe!! He just called to me, and I caved!!! Oh well, like you said RNS, they are inexpensive, and brighten up any room. Did you guys see my other pics?? My Herbie, was in 2nd place last I checked----I'm so proud of him...

Lisa,

I'll try to post a photo of Grapel over the weekend, he's at home. He's also a combo of red and blue with reddish fins. But he really is purple.

I'm amazed at how quickly I get attached to these little fish. I saw another one at the store that was an iridescent green, but he had the beginnings of fin rot.

Oh yeah, the great thing about Grapel is that he matches my house. We have faint purple walls, and we're getting new carpet called lavendar relaxation, plus linoleum with green and purple in it. So once I put him downstairs in the room with the other aquarium, he'll be the perfect decoration. (as if!)

Nannynan, how many bettas do you have now? As of about 2 hours ago, I now have 5. I picked up a little 1 gallon TopFin Bettascene aquarium, and little white rock, and a black/white plant---it was all so inexpensive, and he was just too pretty to pass up---hehe. You can divide this little tank, but I'm letting him have the whole thing, and it would probably be cruel to take half his space away later right---hehe. Hopefully I'm done now---I wanted a purple one, and I think I found a real pretty one, so THAT's IT---I'm done, and I mean it.........are there any bright yellow or orange one's that you know of....

Thanks Bettanut! They are all from Wal-Mart---I think I've been pretty lucky, and am pretty selective---that's half the fun--looking at all of them, and waiting for that one to say---Take me Home!!! Don't know if you read my last post, but I did also get the thermometers today too---so, I really went to Petsmart for a legitimate reason.... ....I just happened to get there when they had a whole lot of happy little pretty fishies there---and found my purple-ish boy...hehe. There was this really, really pretty blue one, with black markings all through his fins, and I almost couldn't decide----if he's still there in a day or so---------hehe--------he may have to come home with me too----then for sure I'm DONE---and I mean it----
