I am new to photogrqphy and I want to get a good digital camera that's relatively inexpensive. What do you suggest?

Hi there Daisybun, thanks for dropping by with your enquiry!

Have you anything in particular you'd like from a digital camera? As you mention you're new to photography, what have you enjoyed taking pictures of so far or would really like to take pictures of? Thinking about what you'll use your camera for will help us pinpoint which one will be best suited to you. smile

Also, take a look at this previous forum post on the Photography forum you might find helpful. Here we debated what camera would be best suited for Phyllis who particularly wanted a camera to take with her out and about to capture things from nature, to later use as inspiration when working on her sketches at home... Best camera...

My friend who is just getting started got a Canon rebel digital. I think its a good place to start. There is a comparable Nikon but I'm can't recall the name.

Thanks -- I'll go check those out today. Does your friend use theirs to get portrait photos? I need something I can use black and white film in to get good depths of shadows (values) for sketching.

I need help here, too.

My camera just got stolen from my car. frown (I forgot to lock it) blush

But it really was not a good camera for us - it was one of those that cut down on red-eye - but it was so slooooooooowwwwww.

I need something that is going to help me capture all those KamiKazi Squirrels on film - they're fast little buggers!

No serioiusly, My daughter does competitive cheer, and my son is in cross-countyr. I try to get action shots of them, but if my camera has to refresh, they're already gone by the time I'm set for the next picture.

(But I really do want to take pictures of squirrels, too, lol!)

I cannot spend a fortune on a camera right now, though.
