Hi everyone, I'm new to this site but it is so incredible to find out that other women are suffering like me. No one seems to understand the severity of dealing with painful periods and bleeding all the time. If it's not cancer then the attitude is that it's not serious. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis 8 years ago when I was trying unsuccessfully to get pregnant. Now that I'm 44 I really don't want to get pregnant, I just want my life back. My dr found a fibroid that he recommended I have removed and also said I should have an ablation. He did not mention ANY risks or even discuss it with me. I am wary about this procedure b/c my sister had endometrial cancer and her oncologist told me that he does not agree with ablation b/c it makes it very difficult to detect cancer. Have any of you found hormone therapy to be helpful? Anybody out there had a hysterectomy and glad she did? It is very comforting to talk to other women who can relate.

Hi everyone, I am new here but just had to post about my Novasure procedure. I am absolutely thrilled with my results. I had hysteroscopy, D&C , Novasure Ablation on 9-2-08. My procedure was performed as an outpatient at a hospital. I arrived at 7 am, was taken into the operating room around 8am, back in my room by 8:30 am, discharged at 9:30 am. It was an absolute breeze and I remember nothing about the procedure itself. I experienced very little cramping and bleeding. Here I am 2 months post op and no problems and NO BLEEDING! I am very optomistic after yrs. of bleeding almost daily. I have so much energy. This procedure was definetly the right decision for me.

As for the question about uterine cancer - Since your endometrium is destroyed by the ablation procedure then technically there is nothing left in your unterus to become cancerous. That was a concern of mine but the answer makes perfect sense to me.

I just have to say how happy I am that I had this done.

Had novasure 2 weeks ago and feel great! Surgery was under general anesthesia at my local hospital and included hysteroscopy, d&c, novasure, hysteroscopy and saline rinse. Very little discomfort for a couple of days that was easily managed with ibuprofen. Discharge is almost nonexistant and I believe this is due to the saline rinse afterwards. My period was due 4 days ago and has not come...maybe I will not get one again?
I opted for the novasure procedure due to irregular periods. I did not have excessively heavy or painful periods, just long and very unpredictable ones. I have read that novasure is very successful for this and so far has been a breeze for me. You will likely read a lot of horror stories online about novasure. Many who have had success do not spend time sharing their experiences online. Many who have had poor results have had problems beyond what novasure could address, and novasure was possibly a first step to trying to resolve their medical concerns. Good luck to all looking into novasure to help them.

Hello, I am new to the forum, but wanted to ask a question. Is novasure not recommended for someone who has fibroids? From reading the posts it looks like the results are not great if you have fibroids. I am going to have a consultation tomorrow to talk about having the novasure done, but I do have a history of fibroids. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

I had one fibroid. It was three centimeters. The procedure worked for me. I am very happy with the results.

Hello All, glad I found this site. Wish I had found a month ago! I had novasure on 1/7/08. Had it done for heavy periods and severe life altering cramps. Well 10 days after novasure I am bleeding with severe PAIN and no answers from my Dr. I saw him yesterday and he says wait until 2/17/08 when I go back to him (and take pain killers in the meantime-basicially suck it up!) I can't work on pain killers and can't work without them due to pain. Somebody have a suggestion?

Do you mean 2009? Take 800 Advil as needed....You won't be goofy.

I had mine done March 08. I started bleeding last Thursday, for the second time in January 2009, been going on for 7 days. My doc is sending me for a sonogram. My breasts are larger and painful this month, and my back pain is horrific.

I went to the Chiropractor, thinking it was bone related, no relief. I'm scared. I know my body; this is not normal.
