BellaOnline Forums Food and Wine Tea Tea Time At Starbucks is at 2 PM

I have been trying to keep up with all of the national chains going under. But for Starbucks I hadn't heard that. I had thought that I had heard the company may consolidate stores, and do away with those that were underperforming. In the area where I live, it seems that there is one on every corner. I don't really think that they need that many.

We'd better get all those new tea infusions and lattes that we can just in case.

It is sad what is happening with the stores, either mom & pops, or the big chains. All seem to be struggling. I read about Starbucks on MSNBC regarding this years upcoming list of chain stores soon to be filing. Possibly it was a prediction, I really don't know. I also don't remember the whole list, but I do know Starbucks was on there and Linen & Things. Additionally, Sears / Kmart, but they were already under Bankrupcy.

Yes, grab those lattes just in case!

It is so sad, they have revamped our little downtown where I live and did a new facades with things that were period to the hey day of our town and now all the tiny boutiques and mom & pop bakery and make-up/jewelry store, and the things like the crochet place are all gone now! But isn't the downtown pretty! I hope that something changes around quickly so that those who are left can hang in there, and maybe some of the others can come back! I'm praying for a chane in the economy/

The day I saw a notice in Starbucks saying it had banned smoking to improve the flavour of the coffee I asked the clerk if all those poor people in Italy and France, standing at the counter drinking their espressos and smoking were, in fact drinking inferior tasting coffee. When he quoted some corporate babble at me, I left and have never returned.

Zervia, I'm guessing that they have not banned smoking in cafes in London! Here in the USA, you are like a leper if you smoke! We can't be with in 15ft. of a front door to an establishment or you risk a fine! Most bars and clubs have smoking sections, or outside off premisis! I am an ex-smoker and have not smoked for at least 8 years, I know that my health and the health of those around me is better!
But by golly sometimes you just want to have one with your tea or coffee!
