Angie,

It says I am a "newbie" under my nick. Other than that, and more importantly: I am a Roman Catholic.

Just like everyone else has said, you can be part of a church and not believe in all aspects of the church your in.My husband grew up Lutheran. But,he attends the same Catholic Church I goto.He will aprticpate, read the sciptures, etc with me.But,he also doesn't believe everything Catholicism teaches. But,my husband also knows that my religion is important and helps shape who I am,spiritually.

Mrs. Kassie,

I love being Catholic; I grew up Catholic - I love the tradition and ritual. I've been involved with the RCIA process as a sponsor a number of times and that has helped re-introduce me to the teachings. Everyone needs a refresher course, so to speak. Through these years, I've been reading more Scripture as well as other Catholic literature.

This is true for your husband since he is not part of the True Church. As a Protestant he is by definition a "protester" so he will be in the state of protest and disobedience until he converts to Catholicism.
But for you, a Catholic - as far as Faith and Morals are concerned you must agree whole-heartedly with the Church or you cease to be a Catholic (automatic excommunication).

Just for clarification, what aspects do you believe a Catholic can "disagree" with the Church on?
Thanks.

Please keep in mind this is not a debate thread.

Mellisa,

Am I to understand that any question that is asked (by me anyway) qualifies as a "debate?"

This doesn't look good.
