Melissa,

Sounds like an interesting story. Must keep you busy for hours dreaming up plot lines and scenarios.

I also write short stories--Confessions. I've had a few published. Probably one a year since 2004, but I haven't submitted anything lately.

Laurie,

Yes hubby is right, personal goals are very important and like Lisa said, it's good to balance professional and personal goals. Gurus like Stephen Covey swear by this concept.

Oh I like that, a morning "To-Do" journal and an evening "Gratitude" journal.

My life has changed so completely in a few months that I am afraid of actually sitting down with paper and reorganizing my priorities and goals. I have so much to deal with right now with the lifestyle change of moving into an RV and living on the road. It occupies every waking hour. Everything else is being put off until we are out of the house at the end of Feb and living on the road.

not sure if it makes sense for me to think about anything else right now, not even my goals. Thoughts?

Oh I hear you loud and clear Jill. I once read a book, where a character moved to a new country and failed to write a friend for a very long time. He did not write because he said everything was so new, he felt like he was "drowning" in the new experience. When he finally was able to tread water (and had some perspective) that is when he wrote to his friend.

Sometimes I go into survival mode--I think we all do. I say, no thinking about long range plans, strict schedules, I put aside many of my self help rules just do what needs to be done that day. I usually set a limit this time. I say, in one week, two weeks I'll get back on track again.

Yup definitely survival mode sounds apt for Jill! Just get through February for now. Don't worry about long term goals until you are through that process!

That being said, if there is any way to have a journal to write in, I think it'll really help. That way when you feel stressed or angsted or anything else, you can release that energy. Don't force yourself to write in it - but I think having something to write in when you need to will help!

I am feeling enthused, I really do work towards each goal each week and even if it's tiny steps I feel like I am making progress!

Mail is my biggest focus, to get through the backlog. My daily incoming mail is staying under control, and I need to choose a backlog folder each day and plow through it!
