I was just talking with a musician friend of mine. He said he only has 300 tunes in his iTunes library. I think it's a new iPod but it amazes me that the number is so low as he's also into computers.

Several years ago Bob and I sat down and ripped all CDs in both of our libraries into our computers, and have since given away most of those CDs to declutter our homes. I have also bought a number of albums on iTunes. I don't have any illegal music and my library is at 8,622 songs. Now I'll note that I'm 39 so I have had many more years to gather songs than say a teenager would.

I always thought of us as having a normal CD collection - but maybe ours was on the large side?

Not so much. But so far Keaton Simon is getting many spins so he's on top. LOL.

I only have about 80 songs but I mainly use them for exercise and I'm really picky. They have to have the right beat for the treadmill or exercise bike etc; It makes a big difference when you want to do an extra 15 minutes and need somthing to get you going.

I have about 2300 songs in my iTunes library and I consider myself picky too! None are illegal either. I love music smile I'm watching an eBay auction for a copy of the Foo Fighter's single with the Darling Nikki cover ... rare and pricey, but someday smile

I have about 5,000 songs. But I have to say, when I put it on shuffle, I am often skipping over songs. I guess I don't really need all that music!

eBay is great, but being in Canada the shipping kills me. I did get my Foo Fighters Darling Nikki cover though smile
My library (still being picky!) is at 2470 as of this moment.

BellaBabe - you can make a playlist of all songs you have tagged at 5 stars for example so you just play through your favorites smile I don't think it's bad to skip songs - for example sometimes I'm in a dancing mood, sometimes I'm in a quiet mood. So there are songs for all occasions!

Kevin - that's odd, when I sell things and ship to Canada it pretty much is always the same price I charge in shipping ...

I use the playlists quite a bit. I have one of my favourites; one of slower/quieter music; holiday music; and a smart playlist that will only play those songs with a low count, which are obviously songs I haven't heard in a while.

Shipping to Canada costs me anywhere from $4 to over $10. That being said, I know that the costs aren't near that high, but it's still what I would be charged if I were to buy on eBay. Oh well.
