-Finish school with great grades (A's and B's).
-Start attending church regularly.
-Pay off the couch and have no more than $2,000 in credit debt.
-Grow my hair for one year without freaking and cutting it almost all off.
-Stick with one hair color, no more 3-6 different haircolors in one year.(Last year I was blond, blond highlights over medium brown, strawberry blonde, red head, black and now medium brown. Crazy right? I get emotional and dye my hair, I think it's a control issue really.
-Finish painting the kitchen! (We did everything but the wall space under the cabinets/above the counter.)
-Finish with Physical Therapy. (I was hit by a car back in february, I'm doing good now, back to work, but still lots of limitations and pain, hence the PT.)
-Be well on my way to being less than 200 lbs, if not lower.

Okay, my Jilly Ritual is now established. Right before bed I go out on the big deck and look at the sparkling city lights below in the distance. And I give myself an imaginary toast and thank myself for being a good doobie. smile

Today I checked my amazon rank and there was another jump. Yay! From 248,330 to 176,136. smile smile smile

So i passed the 200,000 milestone we'd mentioned some posts ago and now my new goal is to break 90,000.

I am still ranked with people who have 2, 4 or 7 reviews (I now have 60). I guess it's still mostly about the votes if people with 2 reviews are in the same category.

Well, you now have more reviews than me, so you'll move up fast, I'm sure. They probably don't want to leap you forward too much! LOL--who knows??

Sorry Jilly just read your reply now (D'OH!) Not sure HOW we are getting there yet. Hubby (who is Egyptian) will come back from a holiday in his native Egypt in October (he goes there in September) and then we will be figuring it out. Ah you are so kind!!!!

Re the workload today I figured out something. I still have my fingers in a couple of pies I started off with so I am going to say that I am focussing on THESE things plus my class (I am a teacher, the other things I will focus on is Healthy Eating and walking to school - which I started on this school year) and I have just finished helping my school get a prestigious (apparently!) award so I will tell anyone who tries to dump NEW projects in my lap that these are the things I am focussing on this year so I cannot take more on. Unfortunately saying I want a better work-life balance etc. doesn't seem to go down too well. Tried that with a person outside the school who is a guide with the award I just did. She wants me to do a one year course in something that does NOT come with a guaranteed pay increase so I am NOT
interested - it's been
something every year for at least three years now in a row!
I said
I want to have more time
for my life OUTSIDE work for fun, social life, learning languages etc. but she didn't seem to get it!

There's also a cooking thing, teaching the kids to cook. I HATE cooking - hubby cooks for us - and I said I wanted someone who LOVES it to do the course (a different course) or we shouldn't do it and I found two people who are VERY keen to do it and LOVE to cook!! So, delegating there, kinda.

Delegating is awesome. We all should only do the things we really love in our time. Time is very precious smile It's easy to get sucked into things we don't like 'just because'. It's very worth it to say "sorry I have something else I really love to do".

Good news! My Amazon rank made another leap...I went from 108,327 to 47,226! My next milestone had been to make it under the 99,000 rank, and there it went, very quickly.

That inspired me to post more reviews yesterday. I now have almost 90 reviews and they are all real, full-length critiques.

My goal by May 09 is to make it to the teens. So my next realistic shorter-term goal is to break 20k. I imagine it gets harder to drill through the ranks as you go along.

Another short term goal is to have more than 100 reviews up in the next two months.

In other news, in my quest to get my crestline living site highly ranked, I am now 3rd from the top on page one of google for "crestline california", 3rd from the top on page two for the search term "Crestline CA." For just 'crestline' I am on page 3. These are really great advances for me, as I was previously really buried for those terms before.

I don't have anything positive to add in my other goals, but those did make me happy. It was nice to come home from traveling and see that I am getting somewhere.

Jilly - Congratulations on your Amazon standings. That jump was outrageous! Being listed just third on the Google searches for the Crestline site is also amazing. You have to be so proud of yourself for both accomplishments. That's really exciting stuff.

My goals are...
1. To get my dog to walk again with me.
2. To plan out and paint another large scale painting in 2009.
3. To get outdoors more often with my digital camera and take more pictures.
4. To help my son through his next year of college.
5. To be a more involved sister and aunt.
6. To find interesting topics to write about for the Creativity site.
7. To pray more on a daily basis for those suffering in the world.

Thanks Deb. It was really a shining light for me to see those things had happened, and all while I was traveling. I guess a watched pot *doesn't* boil! smile

Those are really nice goals for you. I love the idea of the large scale painting!!! And of getting outside with your camera. I need to do more art too.

Do you have specific baby steps to getting somewhere with 1, 4, 5 and 6? I am all about the baby steps.
