I had my second weigh in today and it was horrible! After losing 4.6bl last weigh in I gained half a pound this week and was so sad and discouraged. I kept on going back to what I ate all week and didn't understand what happened cause I was so good with the food and worked so hard on my second week. That's when I went back to an old habit and of beating myself about being unsuccessful and not losing weight and I ate some chips and a cookie just because it was there and then of course felt even worse and through it all up...this is the first time I am admitting of doing something like this in public, and the reason I'm writing it here for you guys to see is so I won't do it again. I'm going back right now to eating the first 2 weeks of low carbs again and I need your support to keep going. I really want adn need to lose the weight and I'm committing to you that no matter weather I lose or not I'm sticking to it! Thank you guys for being here adn listening to my distress Ori

Lilue, I hear ya, I do the same thing when i get discourage. I binge and beat myself up for binging. When you fall down pick yourself up and try again, You sound like you have the will. And thats a good thing because you haven't given up. So go for it you can do it girl, Hang in there, and lots of luck. Come back every day and check in were all here to help each other.

Rosie has it right. We all make mistakes. The key is to be kind to ourselves, realize we are human, and try again.

Feel proud of yourself fro recognizing it for what it was, and stopping after jusdt a few chips and a cookie. Heck, I've gone through a whole Sara Lee cake before, LOL!

Lilue-surprise! You're human! Love yourself for getting back on track. Ihave been where you are.
A few years ago I had joined Weight Watchers. I stuck to that diet like it was a life-saver. One week I had a 1/2 pound gain, same as you, and I knew I had eaten only what I was supposed to eat. I felt horrible and felt worse when the woman who weighed me said, "Come on. You can be honest with me. You cheated, admit it." I felt like crying.
The following week I lost 2 pounds. I left that Tuesday group and started going on Thursdays. The woman there was so much kinder if there was a weight gain.
As women, our bodies go through fluctuations and not just at the time of our periods. Small gains will happen; it is just how we are.
Believe me the chips and the cookie will not matter all that much.Be kind to yourself and you will succeed.

It's black and white thinking that can drag you downward. "I gained a pound, so I might as well eat this whole roll of cookie dough and two pints of Ben and Jerry's" isn't the way to go. The others are right- you need to be kind to yourself, just as you would to a friend. Try not to get too freaked out by a minor setback. What would you say to a friend in the same situation?
good luck-

that's why our lives are divided into days - so we can get up in the morning and start all over again !:) you don't have to be perfect to reach your goals - ups and downs are ok - it's the long haul that counts - you can do it - you're not alone - keep going and stay in touch

Lilue,
I hope all these wonderful suggestions help. It's important to remember to treat yourself with kindness. What would you tell a friend in the same situation? It helps to treat each day and each meal as a new opportunity and learning experience. Eating and weight management is a lifelong journey with lots of ups and downs along the way. You are not good or bad because of what you did or didn't eat today or what the scale happened to register.
The big mind shift occurred for me when I stopped focusing on the weight and started focusing on trying to become healthy and taking care of myself. Then the weight I had struggled with for years slowly began to melt away.
It's important to stay focused on the bigger picture.....over the past two weeks you still have lost a significant amount of weight....hurray for you!!!
PS....The last time I went back to Weight Watchers, it took more than four weeks of religiously following the plan before the scale moved!
Just follow the plan, eat to nourish yourself, take care of yourself and the weight will come off....

You guys are great thank you for helping me snap out of this as quickley as possible and wake up this morning with a complete new attitude towards this. Like you guys said yesterday was a minor set back, but I'm human and slips do happen. Today I woke up ready to start over. I have a goal. I am currently living with my cousin and her family in the states, I've been here for 6 months now and having been home (Israel) in 10 months. I am going home for a 3 weeks visit September 14th and that's my goal to first stick to this way of low carb eating till I get back and of course to have my family eat the same way that I do when I'm there It's been hard here because I'm the only one in the house who eats low carb so I have to work around foods that are not low in carbs (I can't wait to get my own place). Anyways, I know I can do it even if slips may happen Once again, thank you guys for listening, support me and help me pick my self up so fast Have a wonderful day. Lilue
