I know exactly what you mean, Ogriv. I've never been a godmother, but I was friends with a girl who made it clear that I was going to be an "auntie" (whether I wanted to or not). Of course, her definition of auntie meant babysitting and showing up at birthday parties.
Oh! BTW - this made me think of something I saw on TV the other night...
I don't know if y'all have ever seen the Bravo show "Flipping Out". It is about house renovator and property "flipper" Jeff Lewis - who is a bit obsessive compulsive (little understatement) and his partner and others he works with.
Well his business partner Ryan has a baby that just turned 1 yr, Jeff is completely single - no kids. Ryan will bring the baby over sometimes and Jeff will play with her and do things like throw the baby doll on the floor and say "bad baby" and the little girl just thinks this is hilarious - and Ryan (her dad) is like begging "Don't show her that! She does that for daaays after we leave your place!"
Jeff is like truly
evil with this child. He's teaching her to feed baby dolls to the dog, rip their heads off, all sorts of stuff. They
NEVER aske him to babysit, LOL!

Just a little tip for you guys...
