I love egg plant parmiganno but strangely my best was in a Hero in New Jersey. Otherwise fried zucchini flowers that I had in Frascati, an incredible porcini mushroom pizza cooked in a wood burning stove and served on a wooden platter in a restaurant in the Alps. Then there is the brilliant Italian bread with roast artichokes, buffalo mozzarella, extra virgin olive oil washed down with a robust red wine. Tagliatella Alfredo or pasta fagioli. Oh God I have to go and eat something now. Ciao

I love zucchini flowers.

My husband conducted a wedding in Vicenza. The reception appetizers were fried zucchini flowers, fried sage leaves, and breaded and fried green olives. They were all incredible.

Were they battered first then fried? Or just fried as is?

I adore chicken marsala. I also love Italian short ribs.
