I love all Italian food..........but if I had to pick one food, it would be the good old fashioned comfort food of spaghetti (the long windy stuff) and meatballs....(not too spicy, but not exactly mild) in a merlot wine enhanced sauce.

I love almost any kind of Italian food.
My favorite is cheese gnocchi topped with brocolli rabe in a garlic and olive oil sauce.

My favorite Italian recipe is the Calzone. I recently ate it at restaurant in Portland which were huge-about the size of football.

Brociaola, eggplant parm and basically any good old dish of pasta with sausage and meatballs. Lasagna ...too but it takes so long to make and I make all my stuff from scratch. Nice antipasto on the side, pour some vino and I am happy.

Has anyone here ever heard of chicken riggies. It originated from my old hometown of Utica, NY. Now they have a Riggie fest every year and it had really taken off that even Racheal Ray had a version on her show.

What about what the Americans have named it Italian Wedding Soup..we just call it chicken soup with escarole and tiny meatballs. Yum one of my favs and I make this for Thanksgiving contribution every year. I also love veal parmigiano.

(now I 'm making myself hungry so I will leave)
