A great story on the subject: I was having a slice of pizza at a Papa Gino's with my father once, when he placed his pizza directly on the table top. I said, "Dad, don't you want a plate or a napkin to put that on?"
He looked me square in the eye, leaned slowly in and said, "Ever heard of antibodies?" smile

Oh wow, the 'vermin' reference earlier reminded me of the Chinese joint hubby and I used to frequent. Until I saw a mouse skitter across the dining room floor.

Now when we drive by it, I ask if he wants to stop in for some fried mice.

Snicker.

We have an old "Soda Fountain" type burger place like that here.

Great food... just close your eyes and don't think about it.
