What is the number one food most craved during pregnancy?
Watermelon never tasted as wonderful as when I was expecting my daughter!

I don't know what the most commonly craved food is - it probably varies.
With my first pregnancy I craved avocado and guacamole. With my daughter I craved ice cream! Yum!
With this pregnancy I haven't had any strong cravings really except that our home grown tomatoes are tasting particularly good this year! :-D
What is everyone else craving?

I hated tomatoes til I was pregnant. I've loved them ever since. Red Licorise was a real craving.

I can't get enough of my breakfast cereal - muesli with Greek yoghurt especially. Yum. I could eat that all day.
And potatoes. I've gone nuts for them.
And fresh orange juice. And fruit, plenty of gorgeous, delicious fruit.
I have gone off coffee, tea, sugar, and also chocolate to an extent. If hubby brings chocolate through for himself I'll have some and enjoy it, but I definitely don't want it the way I did before I was pregnant.

I craved peanut butter sandwiches and milk. Tuna melts, too. I also craved pickles, pickled cauliflower, and artichoke hearts. LOL

For my first pregnancy, I craved oysters and seafood. My husband read about needing a particular mineral in peanuts for optimum brain development in the final month so he made me eat tablespoon of peanut butter every day during that last month. I don't care of it that much but I ate it. My son's head was large and it wouldn't fit through my pelvis. I had to have an emergency C-section! But he is smart!!! And his head isn't too big or anything now.
My second pregnancy, I craved pickles and ice cream. Not together though! My daughter adores pickles and ice cream.
For my third, I craved Snickers bars. And yes, my son loved Snickers bars.
I ate healthy foods, too. Just those darned cravings compelled me to eat the junk!

I never crave anything specific, I just crave foods and not healthy ones :(((( That is SO common - your body has a high need for fatty acids and healthy proteins but sometimes our brain interprets that need as a desire for fatty foods. The WRONG kinds of fats! When I started feeling like I just HAD to have that giant chocolate bar I would first try eating quite a bit of a healthy fat. An avocado sandwich, or can of black olives, would usually satisfy my body's needs without me dipping in to the cookie jar. Usually. *wink* Angela <><

I'm in my eighth month and the only consistent thing I've noticed is blue raspberry slushies. I know, that's SO not healthy! I only have about one a week, but it's got to be a big one!
I've been wanting lots of sugar and lots of carbohydrates. That sounds bad, even to me, but I've only gained about 15 pounds total and I passed my gestational diabetes test "with flying colors", so it must be okay. I should say, though, that I eat very healthy three times a day and I walk a lot...the sugary stuff is filler. lol

I never had food cravings so much as I was repulsed by some foods. I love Pizza and I could not eat it when pregnant.
I had a friend several years ago that said she craved dirt, imagine, dirt! I never heard of that. I asked her what she did to satisfy the cravings and she said she ate raw potatoes, I guess the skins of the potatoes satisfied the dirt craving ...weird.
