With today's Monday weigh-in I achieved my goal of reaching 18% body fat or less! I am now at 17.2% body fat, thanks to my juice cleanse. Hurrah!

So my new goal for the body fat area is 16.5%, which is in line with my five year goal of reaching 16%.

Also, I did publish my first mystery novel, Aspen Allegations! I enjoyed that process a lot. So that is now off my list.

I am in the final stretch towards graduating from college, after all these years! I am in week 4 of 6 for two courses, on consumer behavior and digital photography. Then I start up one final course and that's it. Hurrah!

How are you guys all doing on your one year goals?

I've done an update of my 5 year goals, which means an update of my 1 year goals to point towards those!

So I reduced my medieval novel expectations to just one, as I'm adding in a sci-fi novel. I'm also increasing my expectations for the wedding-courtships series, to revamp all 3 books and also have the new Native American one coming out. I have to figure out what is going on with my publisher on that. I'll write them again today. They've been "stalled" since last October.

* Graduate College!!
* BellaOnline at < 60 empty sites
* Have zero email messages in all BellaOnline to-do folders
* Finish Native American Book
* Revise 3 original wedding – courtship books
* Write / publish 1 romance novel
* Write / publish 1 mystery novel (August day-at-a-time)
* Write / publish 1 sci-fi novel
* Have office fully organized
* Have fire pit finished, with bugleweed along stone wall
* Do Downward Dog very well
* Body Fat at 16.5%
* Play moonlight sonata on piano with music
* Play dueling banjos on guitar with music

How are you guys doing?

* Finish Native American Book
* Revise 3 original wedding – courtship books
* Finish / publish 1 medieval romance novel

* Write Book 3 in Murder Mystery Series (May 1-30)
* Revise / publish 1 sci-fi novel
* Publish 6 more novellas
* Get all existing ebooks organized and live in all systems
* Have office fully organized
* Have fire pit finished, with bugleweed along stone wall
* Do Downward Dog very well
* Body Fat at 16.5%
* Play moonlight sonata on piano with music
* Play dueling banjos on guitar with music

When you're at the point of one year goals, you're into manageable chunks. Now take one of them, look for the forum that applies to that topic, and start a thread for it. Figure out how to plan for just one step to take toward that goal. Even a little step is a good one!

Summertime is a great time to reset your one-year goals! Remember to work on your overall life priorities and then long-term (5 year) goals first. That way you can be sure that these shorter term goals are moving you in an overall direction you want to go. So many times in life we work on short term goals and then realize we didn't want to go in that direction after all.

Here are mine!

* BellaOnline at < 60 empty sites
* Have zero email messages in all BellaOnline to-do folders
* Finish Native American Book
* Revise 3 original wedding – courtship books
* Finish / publish 1 medieval romance novel
* Write Book 3 in Murder Mystery Series (May 1-30)
* Revise / publish 1 sci-fi novel
* Publish 6 more novellas
* Get all existing ebooks organized and live in all systems
* Have office fully organized
* Have fire pit finished, with bugleweed along stone wall
* Do Downward Dog very well
* Body Fat at 16.5%
* Play moonlight sonata on piano with music
* Play dueling banjos on guitar with music

So I did achieve something - publishing my second murder mystery - which won a bronze medal! I'm working on #3 and on the novellas. I need to make progress in some of these other areas. The office is again a mess, for example smile.

So a little each day!

What are your guys' goals for the year?

So, for example, I'm going to make a thread in the fiction writing forum about my sci-fi novel, to talk about the challenges there. That will help me make progress toward that goal. If I never work on it, I'll never achieve it.

I've found that having a chaotic life means I can't get anywhere with any actual goals - I've been trying with this thread now for years.

So I had to move to a very simple system - I now have a daily routine checklist in five categories: nutrition, fitness, house, hygiene, and Us (relationship and work combined, since we work together).

So far it's been actually working. I'm hugely excited. I will be able to have supplementary goals once I have a handle on having healthy routines in my daily life.

I have found myself "drilling down" lately and getting closer to working on what is important. I'm trying to eliminate time spent on frivolous annoying things that do not contribute to my "big picture", which I guess would be the culmination of my 5 year goals.
