I adore Katharine Hepburn and think she was an amazing actress. Here is a quote about her.

"Children? Of course not. I would have been a terrible mother. Im basically too selfish, Hepburn laughs ... "

I love A Lion in Winter. The interactions between the characters, and the emotions they go through, are just stunning. Every actor there does an amazing job.

If someone here hasn't seen that movie yet, I highly recommend renting it from Netflix! I believe she won Best Actress for her role in it, in 1968.

Right that is so true. It's not just that she was playing parts. It is that she really was, inside, that kind of strong person and role model. I am sure that she inspired thousands of women with her lifestyle - women who otherwise might have thought their only choice in life was to live the way of "typical suburban stay at home person". I think it's important to remember that back then it wasn't even about being a "stay at home mom". You simply stayed at home, period, with or without kids, cleaning the house.

He, he, he - Lisa, that is too funny "You simply stayed at home, period, with or without kids, cleaning the house" and cooking I might add.

Oh right, we shouldn't forget cooking. As a woman, you were supposed to be waiting by the front door, drink in hand, a hot meal on the stove, waiting to take his hat and coat from him. It didn't matter if you had kids or not. That was your role.

The question should be what movie couldn't you love....none. There that makes answering that question simple.

I love her. African Queen, Look Who's Coming to Dinner, oh anything.

I admit though, I'm trying to remember Little Women, was she one of the children?

Katherine Hepburn plays Jo, who wants to be a writer. She is "sort of" the main character.

African Queen. That was a very modern, refreshing, charming movie.
