That is a very good point, Money, and one to keep in mind. While *voluntary* retirement may not be a goal, there are always situations which cause you to "have" to retire.

But even there - it may be that an injury causes you to give up the job path you were in, but lets you finally slow down and pursue the jobs that you were always dreaming about doing. I know for example people who quit high-pressure, high paying jobs that they hated and settled down to write or paint and who are SO much happier now. They could easily do that with a stay-at-home injury.

So a lot of times life throws something at you that is rough - a layoff for example - and it ends up being a catalyst for a wonderful new path that you might have been afraid to pursue otherwise.
