I've received fan mail for my Ron Paul article, "General Petraeus vs. Ron Paul." I just wanted to start a topic dedicated to him. Submit questions or comments here.

I too am from Green Tree, PA. I have mixed feelings about him. One issue of his that IMO is absurd is �It is an outrage that waiters, waitresses, and other service-sector employees have to pay taxes on the tips they earn.� HELLO... WHY NOT? They choose to work for tips. The government chooses to tax 8% of their tips, most are making between 15% and 20%. When we tip, we are essentially paying their salary which should be taxed just like mine.

I used to be a waitress and it really doesn't pay much--trust me. That kind of income is unpredictable, one night I can do well in tips and some other nights--not so well. And, I imagine that it's hard to make a living on that kind of income if one has to support a family. Why tax them when they are poor already? Did you know Ron Paul wants to abolish the IRS and Income Tax, which means no taxes on your income and more money in your pocket? I think the government is tax "happy."

Tips have and always will be a sore subject with me. There are many who do make a darned good living. Hairdressers hide all their tips. My brother can make $80 on ONE TABLE so I don't feel sorry for servers (in fine dining establishments) that have to pay taxes. I like and agree with most of Ron Paul's issues, and if he can eliminate Inheritance Taxes, then he'll have my vote.
