That's hilarious!!! You made me laugh out loud.

I see what you mean and I agree. I didn't mean that I believe paying more makes you more deserving of peace - it's just that in this less than ideal world of crazy airports etc, I have saved up my money and bought an airline lounge membership to reduce the stress on me when I travel. I guess I have an expectation that the airport lounge is for adults and I should be able to expect a certain etiquette. But, it's the same concept wherever you are in an airport/ plane. At the airport last month I watched an extended family (so several adults including grandparents)allow their toddler to run riot amongst the check-in queue - yanking on the rope barriers etc till they nearly fell done, and cheer him on like he was some sort of hero. What sort of messages are they sending him?

I'm late to the party, as usual!

Last 16 hour flight I was on (Jan 2008), I was travelling with my mother, my sister and my 2 nephews (8 & 10). They watched movies, read books and played video games. When we were all seated together, we were surrounded by babies and children. I had my earplugs in and still it got loud. However, on the second leg out of Paris, we were seated separately. My mom and I were seated far away from the "family section" and could not hear the kids at all! My sister told me that the second leg had 3 babies screaming the whole way in their section. I heard nothing. So, I think, airlines are trying to block the "families" together. Hallelujah!

That's he's a clown, there for their amusement! j/k
But really these parents think "Oh they're just kids. That's what kids do". No, that's not what kids do. A kid doesn't know any better and it's your job as a parent to teach them how to behave in public.
