Every time I get ready to sign up for one of those sites I end up backing out because I'm afraid they are not on the up and up when they start asking me a whole slew of personal questions. I really would like to write and get paid by a reputable site, but I guess I'm paranoid at the same time about giving out my information to people I don't know. MMM

Wow, there are so many sites to choose from! It's totally hard to know which ones are good unless you try them out, I guess. I write for Suite101 (and love it!), but no other online ones. Most of my writing is for print magazines and online sites - I LOVE writing for MSN Health, but they haven't assigned me anything recently :-(

I think I should start clicking on those Associated Content and Triond sites and see what they're all about!

I feel the same way, Deb. I wonder why they need to know so much about our personal info. That bothers me and makes me a bit leary of proceeding.

My personal favorite is www.universalclass.com . They've been a steady source of writing income and the only 'paperwork' to sign up was my own resume and the work I put into writing the course. Easy.

Yes, I did have a look at that one and am considering.... time demands..... work load etc..... thanks for ideas. Triond seems to be quite time-consuming (I only have one on there about childhood anaemia!) - seems to be all about making friends/getting views there - but all these sites are great for newbies to practice web writing on!

If you want to work at home marketing and writing articles, and you have a flair for writing, these sites are great but can take up a lot of time if you don't know what you're doing as regards keywords, traffic etc and getting indexed by google.

That's why I joined an affiliate marketing business course - where I learn it all. I wrote an article about what it's like there on my website:

PS Just had an explore of the course site and found the noticeboard!

It has a Freelance Jobs Board for paying writing jobs. Apparently, many marketers are business people first - and writers second (or even last!) Those who don't care to write are advertising to pay writers to write their articles for them!

This is great news for me, and anyone else who's interested, as it means I could easily make back my subscription to the site.

Here's the link as there seems to be plenty of assignments to go round:

Come say hi to me in the forum if anyone decides to follw me there!

Oops, message got cut short and submitted before I knew what happened.

I wanted to add that Textbroker buys all rights, meaning it's write-for-hire, and they hires you at different rates...you'll probably start lower and work your way up from 3 to 5 stars, where 3 earns you less than a cent per word and 5 earns you 5 cents per word.
