I recently bought one at Costco. I was expecting to pay around $80 per what my hair stylist said (and he said that was a good deal)... but it was only $35. It's a Conair Infinity.

I have thick curly hair and my old flat iron took a LONG time to straighten my hair. I have time to straighten my hair every morning now (I have four children under 7 - not a lot of time to get myself ready in the morning)

Lets always remember to use heat protectant products when using a flat iron. The flat irons that work best are very very hot. repeated us without protection can destroy your hair.

What do you like as a heat protectant?

I love my ceramic iron - Vidal Sassoon - only $25 and not cheaply made at all.

The products that I think of right now are:
Nioxin Bliss, Nioxin Smoothing Serum, and Glossing Color Sheild.
I'll have to look the names of some other good products.

Thank you both.

My hairdresser uses Big Sexy Hair oil. I told him that sometimes I use Potion 9 - he said that was good too.

I have a question - he straightened the other day - I am not planning on washing it for a few days since I LOVE it straight; The ends are starting to curl up. If I want to run the iron through my hair, should I put on some oil on dry hair? If I wet it, it will curl up and I can never straighten it the way it is now.....
