Daily Show & Colbert Report are DVR'd nightly at our house too! It's great how a lot of us have such similar interests! Those two shows are such a fun way to get your fill of the current events/news each day, with the added bonus of humor and sarcasm thrown in. smile

Oh, I thought you were going to say that you watched Make My Kid a Star or whatever that show with Danny Bonaduce is called.

I seriously want to slap most of those parents. The kids who actually HAVE talent, whose parents ARE down-to-earth and are doing a good job are getting kicked off the show.

Rocky is some kind of drug addict, I'm positive. And that blonde woman who looks like a doll, she's just as nuts.

And Daily Show and Colbert Report rock.

Oh, and our best friends are like the couple where the girl keeps saying "when we have kids" and the guy is like, "eventually." The husband I think isn't really interested in having kids. But the wife's mom has been stockpiling baby gear since BEFORE they were MARRIED. My friend L says that if she doesn't have a baby, her mom will probably disown her.

In a rare moment of being completely sincere with her, instead of joking and teasing, I told her that she should only have a baby if SHE wants a baby. She should never have a baby because someone else wants one.

But the husband acts like he has no say in the matter "I guess we'll have a kid with L's mom says, it's out of my hands. They know more about it than me." I don't think he actually thinks that way, but on the other hand, he's the kind of person to give in when L gets [censored] off just to avoid confrontation. So who knows?

You know, the other night I actually encountered that for the first time in person. (shocking I know, I have smart friends so I usually don't see that kind of stupidity).

A co-worker of my guy's was talking to me, and he let out that his girlfriend wanted to get married (I said how I had no interest in marriage, I KNOW I've got my guy, no need to "shackle" him for peace of mind) and that she wanted kids (to which I replied that kids are screaming parasites, or something along those lines). He says "Oh I HAVE to have them since she wants them!" (to which I reply that BOTH parents have to really really want those freaking things, otherwise it's NOT right). Apparently he thinks since she's the one who will carry them, she's the one who gets to decide whether or not to have them. I think the look I gave him said "You're a dumbass" clearer than words.

What irks me, and I'll talk to him about this later, is that he said that his goal is to become a grandfather. o_O First off, you're assuming you'll HAVE kids, which isn't guaranteed. Secondly, that your KID will want to have kids, which is even more not-guaranteed. Third, that a goal in life should never rely on someone else, only yourself. If he had said that IF he becomes a grandfather he wants to be the best one possible, well and good.
He then says how
