I very seldom feel the need to post my opinion, as everyone's needs and priorities differ, but I feel like I need to. We are a family of four. My husband is disabled, and I am a non-traditional college student. Our total income is $13,000 a year. My 17 year old daughter, JUST got her first job. We get $57 a month in Food Stamps. It seems crazy that the government sets a poverty level, and then makes darn good and sure that people stay WAY under it. We use food pantries, and I agree that everyone there sure doesn't really need it and abuses the program. However... I pull up in a nice car.....it isn't mine, because I have to ask my duaughter to take me, and the car she drives belongs to her husbands family, and was paid for when they got married. So, please, please, don't always judge everyone. Sometimes the whole truth isn't as obvious as it seems.
Thank you everyone, I am learning a lot from these posts, and I am so glad to know that we are not alone in our problems.
