Duane... when's movie night? Can we come over? :-)

Sure -- anytime! Just be sure to check any kids into the coat check closet and lock the door so they don't get out and disturb us smile

Hey..I hope your knee issues are getting better now. I am dealing with some knee issues and getting an MRI in two weeks! Knee issues really suck!

If you are having problems......PARK IN THE MOMBIES SPOTS! Come on...women have been having kids for thousands of years and walking is great exercise...completely different for someone who is having a medical issue (not pregnancy)!

Take care! I am with ya; I had a hard day at work and don't feel like hearing sh**t from people.

I agree with that. People with temporary mobility issues and even seniors deserve designated spots more than mothers. For them it's just an entitlement issue. We actually have some new mother in our country that thinks a year off with pay is not enough because she had twins. She wants 2 years off!

My mother has suffered with asthma for years. She has never applied for a disability permit (though one could be issued to her). Now that she is 72, when she ventures out, a closer spot for her would be nice.

I say the pregnancy parking spots are a great always free spot for any woman (which is unfair to men though.)

Park in the spot and if anyone asks say, "I'm not showing yet, but it's been such a difficult pregnancy."

I really don't shop at Walmart though, so I'd probably never bother to try it out.

Seriously, like a big one that pours oil/butter on the popcorn as it pops? Holy smokes -- I'd better get that invite, too!

Noooo - don't go. Remember to just ignore people who come in to (even borderline) ruffle feathers. I agree with what you said about the recent ruffler, but that shouldn't cause you to not feel completely at home with us.

I rather liked Ingilbert's past tradition of offering a recipe at times like this. I was an early poster when she was doing it, and didn't understand why, but now I do. Would love for Ing to start it up again in the face of calamity.

I happened to find a recipe to offer that's actually somewhat on-topic, even - a drink called Sex in the Parking Lot:

3/4 oz. Chambord
3/4 oz. Vodka
3/4 oz. Apple Schnapps

Shake vigorously with ice and strain into rocks glass.
If any children try to sip your drink, "drag" them into the next room and lock the door. *COUGH* I'm kidding, for all lurking sprog activists.

No, not QUITE that elaborate -- it is one of those 1911 8 oz models that looks nice in the side room, right next to the TV. If you want toppings or caramel corn, you have to put them on yourself, or put the caramel stuff in the popper. It is one of the things we always wanted to make the home theater just like a home theater.

Ok, so the large plastic popcorn tubs we got say "Pokemon: The Movie" on them. They were the only ones that were that large when we ordered the popcorn machine. smile If you can ignore that, then you're good to go. smile smile

The popcorn machine is in the next room, next to the wide opening between the living room and the "dining room" (heh -- we don't use it for dining). The dining room has a wall-full of DVD storage racks for our 600+ movies.

Oh! I love Chambord. My best friend's favorite drink is a Long Island Iced Tea with a shot of Chambord. A very good, very strong drink. I bet she'd like this too. We're going to a writer's conference this summer and I think we'll be making this one in our hotel room at night for all our guests. wink Thank you Angela.

Hmm. This is sort of a difficult topic. I park in the back of the lot and walk anyway, because I need all the exercise I can get. So for me personally, I really don't care who the front parking spots are saved for. I think if you are a healthy person, you should park in the back of the lot so that people who need closer spots can park there.

On the other hand, if I were in pain or had a difficult time walking, yeah, it would be bothersome to me that so many spots in the front are reserved, especially when they aren't used.

Of course, most of the stores that have 'mommy' spots are usually catering to their prime demographic. Most of these places are grocery and baby stores. They make most of their money from SAHMs.

Wasn't I. Perhaps frieda or Bonsai?
