I love the cocker spaniel. They are gentle and loving.I had one growing up.
I don't have a dog now but if I did, it would be the cocker.

A Bull terrier... the ones with the long, straight noses... they're so gentle.... Then the Irish wolfhound. What a dog!

My only dog is Sadie, a Chocolate Lab, but the ex has primary custody and I miss her. I'm considering a smaller dog for the apt, though. Something that doesn't need tons of attention and is fairly quiet and doesn't shed much. I work from home, so it would be good company for me, and vice-versa. And, there's a great walking trail here with ducks and geese in the lake.

Growing up all relatives had black labs, but I was always partial to Saint Bernards - they are so different. Newfoundland dogs are nice looking too. I am allergic to dogs and not very partial to them anyway.

For big dogs I love labs and golden retrievers (they're so sweet).
For little guys, I have always been partial to pomeranians. I've owned 2 in the past. One passed away on us, and I cried for a week, she was just like a baby to me.
The other one I wound up having to give away, because my son with autism (we didn't know that was what it was at the time) was just too dangerous for the little guy. My son thought he was a stuffed animal, and we couldn't get him to understand the difference.
When the kids are grown and on their own, I've already told my husband I want to get another pom.
