I've had kids and that term "we're pregnant" always annoyed me! It's just so PC. "We're pregnant" is politically correct??? I don't get that......could you please explain? I get that it's annoying and physically impossible (for now ), but PC?

I get that it's annoying and physically impossible (for now ), but PC? yeah, i think some husbands THINK it's PC, or progressive/ supportive male. personally, i think it has the opposite affect. i think that a man suggesting that he is pregnant is insensitive to the very different experience his female counterpart is going through! i think it's misguided if it's supposed to be more sensitive. blech.

Oh I have to share this story...
I am a massage therapist and I have all of my new client fill out a form and one of the questions is Are you or do you think you are pregnat? with a yes or no box.
This guy fill out the form and I was going over the form with him and I noticed that he checked yes for the are you pregnat question.... SO.... I was sitting there thinking ok so is this guy really a woman dressed like a man or in the middle of the sex change process or what. So I said " I noticed that you have check that you are pregnant?" he said yes. So I asked him to explan how HE could be pregnat... I was really thinking maybe he needs a psychic evaluation because If HE is pregnat I'm Calling 60 min and Im the Daddy and we going to be RICH!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guy told me him and his wife were going to have a baby and THEY are 4 months along.....blah blah they go to get sonagrams blah blah blah.....
I still vote for the psychic evaluation!

I still vote for the psychic evaluation! Oh, dear lord. I've heard that pregnancy can wreak havoc with a woman's mental acuity, but what is his excuse? How reassuring that this fine specimen has decided to create a mini version of himself.

There was an episode of "House" which featured a man who was having a "sympathetic pregnancy" while his wife was pregnant...to the extent of developing "man breasts"! I don't know if this happens in real life, but it was kind of funny on the show! When his wife went into labor, he was laboring alongside her!

I didn't realize it the first time I read it, but when reading it out loud to my guy (who thought your story was very funny) you wrote "psychic" instead of "psychological", the first one means mystical brain powers like E.S.P., the second one is for head shrinks.

Cindy ...You know, I think I remember seeing an episode of "Night Court" when I was a kid where that happened.

Rebekah - You cracked me up about the "We're trying" comment. It is so true. It bothers me to hear it. I DON'T want to know you two are getting it on! Yuck!! Leave me out of it! I don't mind hearing you're pregnant, but at least let me have my peace while you're doing your business.
I don't want to know how your breast pump works, where diapers are on sale, or another one of my friends' baby picture links.
