I took the test and came out INTJ

* distinctively expressed introvert
* slightly expressed intuitive personality
* slightly expressed thinking personality
* moderately expressed judging personality

I haven't taken one of these in a long time. My results are still about the same.

Sure is. Just do a search for Meyers-Briggs personality test.

Robin--that is a great book you recommended. I used it to help me change my career path and now I have a career that I really love and really fulfills me/fits me. Maybe someone else will find inspiration there too smile

Don't keep us guessing - what DID you do, and what do you do now?

I do office work....I am a Receptionist/Front Office Admin and have a variety of duties. It also gives me enough socialization. At 5pm, I am free to do anything I want.....which is research and write...

I have had a variety of jobs and any that were dull and routine killed me. Call Center Customer Service...??? I do NOT recommend it!!

Reading over the thread again, I'm pretty sure everyone who has responded thus far has at least 2 of the letters in INFP. That seems the most consistent theme. I'm interested to see how this super-informal "study" turns out. I'm also curious as to how different the male Cf types will be from the female.

ha ha--didn't mean to leave a teaser about my career smile

I worked as a Contract Specialist for five years--dreaded every minute of it and hated going to work every day. It was pure business and numbers, negotiating with corporations and writing legal terms/conditions for contracts. Gag!

Now I am in Human Resources and I just love it; I get to interact with different people and help them/guide on lots of different issues. There's also a lot of alone, quiet time where I get to analyze and write documents (I love writing too). It's the perfect combo for me.

Oh, and Call Center Customer Service--whew I've done that too, for a bank, and that was just serious interaction overload with unhappy people! Glad you are happy in your job now too Robin smile

I am INFJ ! I have done the test a couple of times over the years and it always comes out the same. It makes a lot of sense to me - I am highly sensitive and pick up on all the stimulus around me. Like Frieda, I appear from the outside to be extroverted and social - I need people to gain stimulation and support from, but then I crash and have to retreat to ergain my energy reserves. INFJs are highly creative and involved in projects and then need regeneration space and time. They also have a strong sense of justice and are often fighting for a cause - yes, yes, yes, a lot of my energy goes to this - have been involved with Greenpeace, Forest and Bird, Safer Sentencing and all sorts of social and environmental causes over the years.

Anyway, it is that oversensitivity to stimuli and emotional demands that would make parenthood very very difficult for me. And the lack of mental space.

Add another INFP to the tally. I took it a few years ago and back in highschool also and was an INFP both times.
