Do we need to put up a sticky thread defining CF? Here's the thing, I don't think parents can say they "used to be CF" unless they genuinely didn't want children, never planned on having them and only ended up with one because they couldn't face the options available to get rid of the child once the "oops" happened. Otherwise, most of the parents I know enjoyed their pre-kids phase but always had a time limit in mind by which they would have procreated. Heck, even my single friends talk about "when they have kids" thus these people aren't being "CF"

Thus, I think people are getting "pre-child" confused with CF. Child Free means that we are planning on never having children. However that came about, we are now comfortable with it and enjoying our lives. Child Less defines those people who desperately wanted a child but couldn't achieve that dream and are coming to terms with how that affects their life. Pre-child defines those who are thinking about having a family in the future and see parenthood as an essential part of their lifetime.

Edited to add: Sorry guys, I'm not trying to be the new Websters, but I'm wondering if part of the problem is in the definition.

Yes, Malamutes, the definition should be something that people understand when they get to this site. Maybe we could add it to the forum rules.

Great idea--I just read the forum rules when I signed up for the board and it seemed pretty clear that the point of the forum was for us all to be free to talk about cf issues and not get insulted about it. But, maybe a clear definition of what cf means would help people understand what we're all about!

How about this for a definition - This forum is called "Married No Kids." Therefore it is for people who are "married" and do NOT have "kids." I mean I wouldn't go on a Wicca forum and start posting. Namely because I wouldn't know what I was talking about and it doesn't involve me. But I would never go on a site that didn't concern me and bash the people there.
