Oh man you've said it! Can you imagine letting loose like that while in the back of your head you'd be worrying about a kid walking in on that? >_< YICK!

I'm glad you said it, Angela, 'cause I was trying not to, too! I truly believe sex is more relaxing without having to restrain yourself vocally. It's just no fun if you have to constantly keep yourself in check.

Needless to say, I never get any when my step-daughter is in the house. *sigh*

OK, I've tried not to read everyone's too closely so as not to be unduly influenced. Here are my Top 10 favourite things about being CF by circumstance:

1.I can sleep. Boy, I need my sleep. Tomorrow is a holiday here and I plan to sleep in to catch up.
2. I don't have to gather all my strength and give out huge amounts of energy for the next 18-plus years.
3. I can't bear teenagers on the whole (there are of course exceptions) and I hate that stage where they talk to their parents scornfully - I don't have to deal with that.
4. I couldn't stand the agony if my kid got picked on or bullied.
5. I don't have to make all those decisions like "should I immunise my child", "should I send my child to private school", "should I let my child have an xbox"...etc
6. I can be flexible and spontaneous in the big things and the small.
7.I don't have to juggle too much; I can keep life relatively simple.
8. I can have lots of alone time to think and create.
9. I don't have to have that sick feeling that I am adding to the planet's woes and using up even more resources than I currently do.
10. Some of the coolest people in my life are CF and I like to identify with them.

I could go on for a very long time with these...

Don't want to be responsible for the life, well being and safety of another human being. Scary!

I like my body the way it is - healthy!

Don't want to have to go through school all over again (can you say "algebra"? )

WHEW! Angela P - That was HOT! I couldn't agree w/ you more. Me and my DH feel the same way about it. It would be so awkward having sex w/ kids in the house and attempting to be quiet. And the #1 thing my DH says about it is this "So glad we don't have kids so we can go around the house naked or sit in our underwear to watch TV!"

I love hearing all these different perspectives! And everything that's been said is something I really appreciate too about not having kids.

What I'm noticing with this thread is that there are so many great things about being cf that I didn't even realize I was enjoying! Gives me an even greater appreciation for my life smile

I like being able to eat what I want, when I want.

Most kids are so picky about their food, I can't imagine not being adventurous in our daily fare. We like to try everything and we eat a lot of different ethnic food. And if I want to have a fancy dinner with a bottle of wine and flowers on a Tuesday, I can do that!

I listen to women I work with and friends about the kind of dinners they get stuck with eating and I always think "Better you than me!"

And....being able to read a book without getting interrupted by a child needing something. Isn't it funny that parents NEVER have time to read???

My favourite thing is quiet when I want it. An afternoon nap if I so desire or a phone conversation without Junior yelling in the background.
