After all, think of all the time I have saved by not having children.
I do admit though, that I sometimes have to be disciplined and save the forum as a "reward" for when my work is completed. The conversations are so interesting, compelling and validating. And it's really exciting when you post something and it gets a response. That's a cool feeling :-)
That's a good way of looking at it. And this board helps keep me from having them, so I shouldn't feel bad about time spent here. There are worse hobbies. Most people I know have a vice of some sort. I don't smoke, drink and only play slots on occasion. And this doesn't cost anything like many other hobbies. And that's pretty cool. This is a pretty safe thing for me to do in between things. I guess my vice could be that I'm negative about certain things, and I'm trying to get a handle on that. Awareness is the first step.
The conversations are interesting. And it also occurred to me that our writing skills probably improve with all of the posting we do. And, we are also learning to crystallize our ideas about a lot of topics. And I would argue that we learn about handling situations, having our opinions heard and learn to debate with people. That can't be bad!
