My DH has noticed how enthralled I am with this website. This is the first online community I have ever participated in, and I love it. As many others have said, it's one of the few places where I can find like minded people, and discuss the CF life.

I think b/c we are CF, we have more time to go online, sleep, relax, read, watch tv, whatever. I look at it like it's a bonus. My husband has been looking at stories of entrepeneurs online, and gets depressed when he sees how much other people are doing. I said to him today, I'm so lucky that I get to do this this afternoon (meaning posting on this forum). And he made a comment about us doing something with our time.

I can often times spend an entire weekend relaxing and not accomplishing much. And as others have said on this board, there have been times in my life when I have been run ragged. So I think this is just a phase I'm going through. But I feel like this board is so therapeutic for me. I admit, sometimes I can be on here for like two hours, which is a lot of time. But here you can start right in on a variety of interesting debates. You can't just go to a coffee shop and randomly start talking about being Cf, you know.

I have a therapist, but this feels very much like free therapy for me. And I also feel a lot of support, validation and many other positive emotions about being here. It's kind of addictive.

My close friends are CF, have high powered careers, and currently live in different cities. I don't get to talk to them all the time, although when we do talk/visit, it's for hours. This kind of like my girl time, in a way. Sex and the City used to be like a gal pal substitute for me at times when I didn't get to see/talk to my friends a lot. And with that no longer on the air, this has been a wonderful thing for me. That show used to echo many of the topics we discuss here. And this is even better, because we get to share ideas and discuss topics.

I guess my question is this - is it a "waste of time?" I don't think so, but I wonder if you guys ever think this way - just for a minute!

I spend way more time on this site than I should. I've been really lazy overall lately. Don't know why. We spend literally the whole weekend on the couch (well, we work out Sunday mornings.) I've NEVER been a time-waster, and I HATE it, but I seem to have no qualms visiting this site four times a day ... :-)

I admit I spend way too much time on the internet, especially in the winter time. My SO has been out of town for nearly a month and that makes me twiddle my thumbs from time to time. I do enjoy interacting with others and being on message boards help me to express my feelings that I may not be able to in daily life.

Heh, I spend too much time on this site, but if I wasn't here, I'd be doing something else that was not schoolwork or chores. This is the most productive non-productive thing that I do!

In addition to giving me an outlet for venting and pondering, a sense of community with my choice (you're an awesome group of people, you know!), and providing interesting, intelligent conversations, which have all been mentioned, this forum also provides fresh, intriguing conversational topics for my fiance and I. I'll mention something I've read here, and our conversation will spin from there. He may be a parent, but he's very realistic and straightforward about what a difficult, risky, expensive, exhausting, thing having a kid can be.

Also, in case anyone's noticed, a lot of our best conversations don't stay exclusively in the "to breed or not to breed" realm. He and I talk about nearly everything that comes up here, sometimes just before it's posted, but often we're inspired by what I read here. (Can you tell I LOVE talking with this man?)

Anywho, my point is that it's definitely time well spent.

Oh yeah. I spend WAY too much time here. I am always surprised at just how quickly the time goes by. I'll start reading and before I know it, I've killed an hour. It's really bad at work when I jump back and forth between my actual work and the boards. It's far more stimulating conversation than what takes place around me, though. I admit it, I'm hooked!

I also spend very much time here. It's funny, but when I am reading your posts you are sleeping or you're waking up wink

I don't think that it's a waste of time, there is so much I'm thinking about and when I go online for reading your answers or thoughts I often have to laugh out loud when you have written down, what I just thought about smile

This site is so supportive, I don't want to miss it!!!!

I'm so glad so many of you love the forum! Makes me proud to be a part of it all. Other editors have commented about how busy our board is. I daresay, we are the most active here at BellaOnline!

Keep those great conversations going!!

This board is a great gathering place for CF people to discuss, vent and even inspire...I do not think it is a waste of time. I am so glad this venue is here and I try to stop by daily!!!
