In all fairness I don't think she was trolling or trying to start a fight here. She made a comment about animals costing alot, and that they cost as much as kids. She was then attacked. So she responding trying to clear up that she doesn't mean all pet owners..but some do spend alot on their pets. And then she was attacked. She then attempted to clarify citing a cousin who spends an exhorbent ammount on her pets.. And then she was attacked again.

Three times she was blasted for a legitmate friendly post, and only then did she respond in kind.

Personally..if it was me I wouldn't have waited 3 times for people to read way into what I wrote, way past what I ever inteneded, and blast me before I responded in kind.

And I agree that alot of times we have trolls in here, but this time. I think we made one.

Well I'm glad you're not irritated with me for making noise about it. I can't stand to be accused of doing something I'm not (like sounding I'm unreasonable when the person doing the accusing is the one throwing around nonsense figures) but I wasn't sure what the policy on that kind of thing is here.

That's how I felt too GreyDrakkon. I just didn't see it the way Skeeter did at all, but maybe others did too. Well, I guess that rules me out as the bouncer.

Yes, I'd said to Grey through PM last night that I think Bahrain is in here to cause trouble. Bahrain took offense to a pretty polite statement by Cookiecody, assuming that Cookie was saying something about Bahrain's parental status, which she wasn't. Bahrain has since engaged in a strange combination of backpeddling and offense taking even since. This person is here to cause trouble, and I say that we ignore them.

I don't even think that her reply to Cookie was that offensive in anyway (and I certainly don't think Cookie ever intended to be offensive). I think we kind of just assumed that when she was saying "I really don't care if none of you want kids, that's your decision, not mine.
I could care less who wishes to be child free. To each his own.
" that she was attempting to be offensive, which I don't see.

And then followed up by stating that pets cost as much kids. I know that's not the case no need to prove that one. Pets are cheap. Kids are expensive. Although she misworded (and later recanted) it seems she was trying to say that sometimes we spend as much on our pets as people do on their kids. And sometimes..thats true.

Her opinion differed from the majority of those in this forum. That's obvious. Some of us even felt that her opinion was just falt out wrong. And depending on how you interpret her statements, you have the facts to back it up.

My point I'm trying to make, is we all yell and scream and cry about how we want people to accept our choice not to have children, and not give us [censored] over it. We are adults, we made a choice in our lives, don't assume its a phase we will grow out of.

If we can't respect other peoples opinions..how can we expect them to accept ours?

You know, I'm seeing how this is probably my fault. Let me explain something here. Bahrain and Grey were arguing. Grey had just told me in PM earlier that she felt that people were "talking around" her. So, since it seemed that she was being given a hard time, and since I agreed with Grey, I chimed in and defended her. I tried to do it in a funny way, but I can see how it could be offensive.

Things went downhill from there.

So, Bahrain, I'm sorry that I worded my argument so rudely. I am often bad at communicating and choosing the right words. I often have trouble arguing and end up offending people with my word choice.

I also apologize to everyone in the thread for misrepresenting CF people.

No need to apologize to me...I saw it as you did. This is reminding me of the sad state of my new year's resolution: "Don't rise to anger so quickly."

I was thinking of starting a thread about how we're doing on our resolutions (those of us who have them), and I was all smug because I was doing pretty well up until this morning! I got back from out of town and found a bunch of dishes my hubby left in the sink. As I was washing them I was thinking, "Grrrrr. Saves up his dishes for me to do? Grrrr." But then I remembered my resolutions, and a shift in thinking occurred. I realized there really were only a meal or two's worth of dishes, an amount which I leave in the sink all the time. Considering he'd just driven 2 hours to pick me up at the airport, and done all the chores for a week by himself (and done pretty well), leaving some unwashed dishes was not a big deal. I thanked him for doing such a good job, and what normally would have been an argument was avoided.

But then this morning we got into a stupid argument over having too much bread in the freezer, and then this situation in the forum, and I need to start over!!

Thanks, Grey and Frieda. It's no big deal. I think everyone was just reading too much into what everyone else was saying. Except for you, Grey. I think you were just seriously trying to stand up for yourself.

Now for something completely different, PETS. This is a video of my kitten Mr. Mojo. (I swear my voice isn't normally that high pitched...It's my talking to kitten voice. >_< )

This was a few months ago, he's nearly three times that size but still knows how to sit up.
