I just found out that I posted in the wrong section in craigs list and had an ad deleted. I guess I was suppost to post my stuff for sale in the small biz area which doesn't get a lot of action.

For an online store craigslist may not be the best place.
Froogles brutal, no hits no matter how many key words I use.

Kijiji lots of hits but can't link to anything and haven't got many bites but then again it's a funny time of year. Most hits are for my maternity shirt designs, which tells me there are a lot of pregnant women in Alberta, must be the cold nights.

I use Craigslist for advertising our sites and so far it gives me positive output. Buy hey, I better check this Kijiji, maybe this is very helpful too. Thanks for sharing.

I was wondering how you use Kijiji when you can't link to anything? I put an ad on there but it got bounced.

Anyone have any ideas for advertising my cooking and baking products? the work at home sites are saturated. They are mostly people with biz ops hoping to recruit, not people looking.

anyway I don't want to recruit anyone, just sell products.

Where do you put your ads on Craigs list? I've noticed too that the small business doesn't get much activity.

thanks,
Stacy

Green1,

I have lots of Latasia Jewelry Pieces for sale in Calgary. The key not to get bumped is to stay in one area and post one item per ad and no more than 5 ads a day. Once you've built up one area then go to another. DO NOT copy and paste, use different words for each add. I know this can take forever but it works. I do put my website as a place to go to find more information, it's just not a link.

Here's some links from my ads:

Wow! thanks so much for the ideas. I think I could make this work for my Peddlers Kitchen business.

Thanks for the links to your ads. That helps a lot.

Have you checked out Cafepress? or mypowermall. Also, you can get a basic website for free at freewebs.com.

They may be worth checking outif you haven't already.

I have another question. If you post an ad on Kijiji, can you not put the inactivated link to a replicator website?

what I did was put up an ad for a specific product, the Superbowl basket, listed ingredients and price. Then put the inactivated link to the site to order it-and it got bumped. They said putting up an ad with the specific purpose to drive traffic to a website is not allowed.

Do I need to put up a page on a website I have and use that one, like you used squidoo?

I was careful. I only put up 2 ads in one city with entirely different wording.

PS to Vance. I have a MyPowerMall and couldn't get any sign ups and no one shopped. They keep saying on their forum you need to spend up to 8 months of solid work (or more) to see returns. I don't have that kind of time-lol.

Carennedy, I should do a follow up review of Power Mall for your site.

Ya you should... I look forward to getting it. Do you still have a power mall account?

I'm not really understanding what you did with kijiji inactivated link? Replicator site?

Maybe just put the ad in and then if they are interested and email you give them the link to more information. I haven't had any trouble, I THINK... I should go back and check.

I have a cafepress site and love it but you have to be able to create a design and save as a png or jpeg file. Photoshop or Corel draw.

Zazzle is good because you can just type something on the item with their program, thing is though someone can steal it by typing it up themselves and saving money, you never see a cent.

Being an affiliate for either will give you a return. Cafe press is 15% through Commission Junction and Zazzle is 7% direct. There are lots of different stores like this, e shirt threadless... there is a squidoo lens with a few more listed.. under cafepress competition.

Speaking of squidoo, you can set up a lens and earn affiliate income by showcasing cafepress, amazon, ebags, and other stores things on your lens. You can always promote my cafe press stuff... grin honest I won't care promote away... grin just kidding...

For an example though of how a lens works and so you can see how products are promoted you can go to:

Support and Resources for WAHMs and those considering it.

I have a handful of different lenses on various topics, heck my 8 year old has a couple, it is really easy. You also earn adsense royalties and affiliate royalties, although I don't expect it is very much, I think you would need a lot of lenses to make any real return. But sometimes every little bit helps.

I still have my power mall site but there's about $14 sitting in it I can't get without paying $14 for a debit card-lol. I found out a lot of things by doing it that kind of turned me off to it.

Basically everyone tells you you have to spend months and months to get anything built up with Power Mall. I don't want to spend that much time and maybe have nothing to show. I have other options that don't take that long.

A replicator site is one a company gives you that links to their site. Basically they are all replicas of each other with just the names and basic info changed. Search engines ignore them because they have no original content.

I put the link to my site in the ad but didn't activate it. One some I put email for info and those didn't get pulled.
